Lucinda Roseblood was riding her bike home, the wind flew through her bright blond hair and the smell of the air going straight for her nose was soothing to her. She was going quite fast, wanting to get a quick start on her homework so she could read book or watch her favorite shows. She carried a brown but old and dirty messenger bag with all her homework, schoolwork, and books. She had gotten used to the weight of it after having to carry it up multiple flights or stairs. She rode up to her house, 342 Parkway Drive and parked her bike in the entrance way and decided to get the mail. She opened the lid and put her hand in the box and took out what felt like three letters. She expected bills or letters from family. She went inside and walked to the kitchen, she went through the letters. She found bills which she set on a counter for her parents to take care of, a letter from her aunt which was addressed to her mother and pet that letter next to the bills, and finally the last letter, was in a yellow envelope and addressed to her.

Lucinda saw that it didn't say where it was from and thought it was a printing mistake. She looked at the back of the envelope and saw a red seal holding the envelope shut. It showed four symbols within it, one she recognized as a snake, another a badger, and another a raven but the last one was peculiar. It was some sort of lion and bird combination. Confused by the letter she put it with the others and waited for her parents to arrive home. She went to the dining table and began to work on homework.
After 30 or so minutes, she finished the homework and put it in her bag. She then heard the door open and looked over. She saw her father, who had dirty blonde hair, pale skin, green eyes and was in a traditional business attire. She smiled. "Hello father." She was always polite.
He looked at her and smiled. "Hello sweetheart. Did you get the mail?"
"Yes, father. Three letters on the counter. One is bills, one for mother, and the last one was addressed to me."
"Addressed to you?" He was curious and checked the letter for me. His eyes went wide, with either joy or shock. "I can't believe it! You were accepted into the school!" He spoke happily.
"What school?" Lucinda was confused.
"For Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." He spoke as he opened the letter. He read the letter and kept smiling.

"We'll have to go to Diagon Alley to get your robes, books, and wand. Afterward, I'll explain to you everything." He said, smiling.
"Umm... Okay." Lucinda was confused but seeing how happy her father was must mean that something good was going on. "So where is this 'Diagon Alley'?"
"I'll take us there, you're going to love it." He smiled and headed toward the door. She followed him. They headed outside. "We'll need to take a trolley to it."
"Is it far?"
"Yes, let's go." He says and headed toward a station. She followed. "It's a shame I can't get you a broom but it can wait till your older, you are only 11." He smiled.
"A broom?" She was puzzled but decided it's best to wait. They waited for the trolley to arrive, once it did they got on it and sat in a seat together. Lucinda hadn't seen her father this over joyed but this made her excited for what's to come.
