(This story will have a chat format.
Dialogue within a chat will look like the following -
TomorrowsMistakes: "Is this the beginning of the book?"
CherryBlossom: "Shut up. Don't spoil anything, idiot!" )
"I CAN'T STAND YOU. GO FUCK YOURSELF!" Echoed through the entirety of the house followed by a loud door slam.
It was just another night at Alex Mercury's house. Nothing ever seemed to change anymore. It was clear that both my mother and father didn't get along. He wished they would just get a divorce already, because this situation just wasn't good for any of us.
"This will keep my mind off of things."
At least, that's what he told himself whenever his parents would tear down and destroy each other. He unlocked his phone and started scrolling aimlessly throughout the play store, looking for a free app that would allow him to talk and meet with new people. He didn't care who it was, he just needed to distract himself. He wouldn't ever invite his real friends over because of..well..you can probably guess.
"What is this?" He clicked one of the more interesting icons and began reading the description of the app.
Blah, blah, blah, socialize and meet new people, blah, blah, blah. Just what he was looking for. He installed the app and waited for it to download before he created a new account according to the instructions.
There were a list of chatrooms about many different subjects. He scrolled through them, looking at how many people were in each one and if any of them interested them. There was one specifically asking for new friends. He found exactly what he was looking for.
He began to move his finger over the group chat icon but paused. He hesitated, biting down on his lower lip as he looked up from his phone.
'Should I really do this?', He thought to himself. After all, you can never know who you are actually talking to. On the contrary, he could find exactly the right people he was looking for. He can't be the only 12 year old doing this after all, right?
'Come on, Alex. Just press it.' He took a deep breath and sighed deeply, mustering up his courage as the surrounding screams slowly died out.
This was it. Here we go!
