Lightning crackled across the black sky like ethereal fire striking down the mortal world, incinerating everything it comes into contact with and giving life to the paranormal and igniting the night with in-human activity.
Water as black as the night sky above it ran down the pipes and through the gaping, fanged mouths of the petrified gargoyles that were perched on every corner of the nightmarish castle that imposed its stature and firmly held its grasp over the cautious and quaint village of Broardshire.
The town was bleak and repetitive with every building a copy of the previous, apart from the stone bell tower that stood in the center of the slumbering town, which stood so tall that it touched the very stars above it.
Candle light flickered through the artistic enameled windows from the ornate stone arcs that bordered the cavernous room at the top of the tower and within this room 10 ominous thrones carved out of granite with ten different crests ornately carved into the pedestals that held the ten thrones up off the ground.
The ten figures that sat atop the granite thrones were clad in leather and iron and wore various weapons strapped to their back or waist.
"We need a way to distinguish between civilians and the Fanged, so we can purge the cursed creatures!" Bellowed the red faced that sat atop a throne that bore a carved pentagram with the Norse symbol for power engraved into the center.
"Calm down Farrow, the Cult is working on a rune that will aid Hunters in finding Fanged" Whispered a slim, black haired woman that wore a crimson dress and an intricate metal gauntlet on her right hand.
The circle went into up-roar at that comment from the black haired woman but rapidly fell into a still silence at the sound of light but rapid footfalls that were closing in on the great iron bound doors that secluded the room from the outside world before the great doors were flung open.
"Sir, Madam, i'm sorry to interrupt but h-he has taken another one, he's turned another human!" Gasped the scrawny boy that stood in the doorway to the great room.
