"Don't worry it's probably just the frogs croaking outside," her father would say.
"Your imagining it honey!" her mother told her. But no...it wasn't. She sat up on her bed and shut her eyes tight, trying to push away the old memories as they whis...
Hayley woke as the sun stretched up into the sky streaking its wonderful colors around it. She turned over onto her other side to see what time it was. 7:24 a.m. her clock read. She groaned as she climb out of bed and rubbed her eyes.
"First day of school," she mumbled to herself, "how bad could it possibly be"
Very bad. Very very bad. Hayley was 18 years old but had transferred (cough, kicked out of, cough cough) schools 17 times! How? You may ask. Well no one really knows. Not even Hayley. Because when she's cough, kicked out of, cough a school it goes like this. One sunny day when everyone's happy and Hayley's in a good mood she gets sent to the principal's where they tell her that her behavior is bad and that she needs to be transferred. And the thing is she doesn't even have bad behavior. Heck, other than her talent for being really good at roasting people, she's probably the most well behaved kid in the school.
This year would be different though. Hayley was a high school senior. The hardest year yet. A whole new world or horror awaited her.
'Ugh!' she thought, 'Let's get this day over with.'
She opened her white dresser and pulled out a light pink knee-length dress with two flowing ruffles on the skirt and long sleeves made of gorgeously crafted lace with silky flutter sleeves at the palm of her hands. She got dressed into the beautiful dress her father had bought her five days ago along with many other expensive and pretty outfits. It fit like a glove!
Hayley brushed herself off, adjusted her dress, then walked out of her big, sky blue bedroom and walked across the hallway to her bathroom. She looked in the mirror and sighed, this was not going to a good first impression even if she was wearing her dress. She took out a brush and tried to untangle the fearsome beast that was her hair. Once she got it into decent shape she took out her straighting iron and straightened her shoulder-length platinum-tipped hair.

She quickly ran down the main stairwell to see her mother on the phone with her father.
"He already left?!" Hayley said as a disappointed look spread across her face.
"I like that dress Hayley it looks really nice on you." her mother replied ignoring her question.
"Mom is he here or not?"
"No your father left early this morning," her mother said sighing, "4:30 a.m. he says."
I pulled out one of chairs from the dining table and pulled it over, making screech the whole way.
"Hayley Rose Smith!" her mother said a disapproving look on her face after ending her call, "You could scratch the floor! You should be more careful you know!"
"Do you think I care mom!" Hayley said plopping down onto the chair, "Why aren't you of all people not mad at dad!" Hayley's voice broke as she started to tear up, "He promised he'd be there for me! But yet again he fail to fulfill his promise because of his stupid work!"
