A/N: This is my first fanfiction. Like it said in the description, Sirius will be alive. I should also add that Percy came back. Hope you enjoy.
Harry, Hermione, Ron, the rest of the Weasleys, Sirius and Remus were all at the Burrow on the night of Harry's seventeenth birthday. It was the second time Sirius had gotten to celebrate his godson's birthday. In the battle at the ministry, Bellatrix had failed to kill Sirius. When the ministry showed up, Fudge had tried to arrest him, but Harry had demanded that his godfather be given a trial. Under veritaserum, he had told Amelia Bones, the minister and the rest of the court about the switched secret keepers and Pettigrew's betrayal. He had then been freed.
Now, the trio was huddled in a corner muttering to each other. Molly was watching them suspiciously. Sirius and Remus were telling the twins and Charlie about their days as marauders. Percy was informing his father and Bill about some odd behavior he had noticed at the ministry. Ginny was sitting by herself in the corner.
Suddenly, Fred looked up at Ginny.
"What are you singing..."
"Darling sister?" George finished. Everyone was now staring at the youngest Weasley.
"I didn't know you sing," Charlie said surprised. He glanced at everyone."Did you?" Everybody shook their heads except for Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Ron spoke up. "Yeah, she writes her own songs in a journal." At this, Hermione smacked the back of his head.
"Ow! What was that for, Hermione?"
"That was Ginny's private information and she didn't want other people to know," she reprimanded him. Ginny's face was quickly catching up with her hair color. She sent a sharp glare at Ron before glancing nervously at Harry. The others would want to see her songbook now, which held not only her songs but pictures. Many of them were of her and Harry, and Ron and Hermione were the only other people in the room who knew about their relationship the previous year.
Just as she suspected, Bill asked, "Perhaps you could show us some of your songs?"
Ginny shook her head. " No. No way."
"Why not?" Charlie whined.
"Because most of the songs are about my ex," she blurted out before covering her mouth in horror.
"You've had a boyfriend?! And he broke up with you!" Bill shouted.
"Umm... Three, actually," Ginny muttered. Her three eldest brothers were all fuming while the twins grinned mischievously. Fred and George ran to the stairs, hoping to go up to Ginny's room and grab the book. However, Harry had darted out of his chair and now blocked their way, pointing his wand at the two. His eyes flashed dangerously. He directed his gaze away from them and onto Ginny.
"Ginny, they won't leave you alone if you don't sing." Sighing, she nodded her head as if to say ok. Harry beckoned Hermione and the two went upstairs.
When they reached Ginny's room, Harry pushed open the door and grabbed the green book off the desk. Then he turned and held it out to his friend.
"Hermione, can you put a concealment charm on this so no one can see the pictures?" Hermione nodded, giving him a knowing smile, and tapped the journal with her wand, saying the spell. She scanned the pages before passing it back to Harry.
When they got back downstairs, Harry gave the songbook to Ginny.
"Hang on a second," Percy said. "How come Harry and Hermione were allowed to see it?"
" They both know who my ex is, and so does Ron, but I know they won't tell because I trust Harry and Hermione. I'm not sure if I would trust Ron as much, but he knows I would hex him if he even tried to tell you. You'll all just have to guess."
Suddenly, the book was snatched out of her hand by Fred. He and George flipped through the pages.
"There's nothing in here you wouldn't want us to see," said Bill, who had been looking from over the twins' shoulders. He waved his wand over the book. It merely flashed blue, but didn't change. "Concealment spell," he said impressed. " So that's why Hermione went upstairs."
Ginny sent Harry and Hermione a grateful look. Then she turned to her brothers.
"Can you just pick a bloody song already?" she asked impatiently.
"Ginny, watch your language," her mother reprimanded. Ginny rolled her eyes.
"Yes, mum. Now do you guys have a song?"
Charlie handed her the book. "Sing you belong with me."
