Secrets

New town

Home was where my pack is. That was till life at home became worse than it was. I was to meet my dad at the border. So as the paws raced. I heard the pack next to me. They would bring me there until things grew back to normal. They kept talking trying to get through to me. I was lost in my own thoughts. I will have to go to a new school Monday. I have no clue what any of my classes are gonna be. No friends to help out here. Just my dad. He doesn't transform much. Not anymore at least. It was almost midnight. Trying to keep up but most of the pack was ahead of me. All but my friend Alli.

"You deep in thought trying to get to you for an hour!"
"Sorry. I don't want to go. I'm gonna miss you."
"Me too. I will definitely visit."

Because we were so far behind they were already waiting at the border. My dad in his grey pickup was waiting next to the border. Everyone transformed back to their human selves. My mom hugged me first and said her goodbyes.

"Bye mom." I said hugging her again.
"Be good."

The next to say goodbye was Connor. Conner was my brother.

"Bye speedy. See you couldn't keep up today."
"Wasn't really focused on trying I mainly wanted to stay home."
"We all want you to stay home." Blurted Mai
"Me too."

They all said their goodbyes except for Kilo, he refused to, he was pack leader and he hated loosing members. He huffed then transformed and left. I stayed out to watch each and everyone of them transform and leave. It still fascinated me. I climbed into the truck slammed it shut. I had my bag lying in my lap. I fell asleep almost instantly. My father wasn't much of a talker.

I woke up to see we were pulling into the drive way. I got out of the car. As we walked into the house I tried to remember where my old room was.

"There's some soup in the fridge, your room's upstairs on the right."

"Ok thanks father," was all I could manage to say.

I headed to my room. I found my pjs and slipped them on. I threw on a hoodie and put my hair into a ponytail. Then I looked at the clock. 1:00 am. Great at least tomorrow is a Sunday.
I laid on the bed. Sleep took me right away.

Morning finally came I over slept. I awoke to the sound of my stomach crying for food. I remembered I didn't eat anything last night. I headed down the stairs and into the kitchen. I found a note from my father. It said he went to work early. I grabbed some eggs from the fridge and decided to make an omelet. I searched for a coffee pot. My father had none. He was much of a coffee addict like my brother and mum. I decided today would be a perfect day to unpack and redecorate my room. I finished the omelet. Putting it on a plate I grabbed an orange from the fruit bowl to eat with the breakfast I had created.

After finishing eating the food I took care of my plate. I set then in the sink and went upstairs. My room had old stickers of animals. I decided to take them down. I put up the loose art work I had laying in my bag. Most of them were pretty gory. I had a couple of the pack. None to a human eye could be recognized as the people I grew up with. My cell phone rang, I slowly walked over to grab it.

"Hello?"
"Hey Kayla. I know it's only been a day but you have to hear the good news."
"Alli?"
"Yeah, okay so Kilo totally flipped when he got back last night. He said he should've said bye and all that!"
"Alli, Kilo hates my guts! Ever since I ran away that one time."
"I guess people change!"
"Yeah right?"
"I have to go, bye!"

The line cut off before I said bye. I wish she was here. We would spend most our weekends watching movies and playing games. Conner was never around. He was either on patrol or working. My mum worked late anyways. So I just had Alli, but now I have no one.

I spent the rest of the day watching the news occasionally getting up to eat. I didn't want to get to know the territory. I just wanted to go home. It was around nine when my father actually came home. I was asleep on the couch when he woke me up and told me to get in bed.
