Samuel's P.O.V.
"But Mom, are you sure that I have to go?" The raven haired boy whined out to his mother as he just stared out the window his head was leaning on.
"Yes Samuel, we are not going over this again. You are not wasting this perfectly good scholarship." His mother scolded. "I'm not having you living with me when you're thirty and can hardly find a good job. Now stop your whining because we're already here."
Samuel let out a shaky breath as he saw the entrance to his new school. Today would begin his first day of college and lets just say that he wasn't exactly as excited as the other kids. His mother parked the car and for a while they both sat in silence. After a few more seconds she turned to him with a small smile.
"Honey..you'll be alright. And besides, you''ll be able to visit me and the family whenever you want." She placed a gentle hand on his shoulder and gave it a little squeeze.
"Not exactly mom..I can only really come for breaks..." He sighed and looked away before opening his car door. He really didn't want to do this but with his mom constantlt insisting that he should, he had no other choice. The ravenette walked around to the trunk and began to take out the boxes full of his belongings.
"Sweety, your dorm has an elevator, right? Because if not you might want to find another way to get these up there."
"Yes mom, all the dorms have elevators...come on, let's get this over with." Samuel and his mother made constant trips back and forth to his dorm room which, thankfully, was on the 4th floor. When he opened the door with the key he noticed that his new roommate was nowhere in sight. He thanked the heavens for this because he didn't want to make things more awkward than they should have been. About 30 minutes later, both Samuel and his mom had finsihed unloading everything into the room and she stood outside his door.
"Oh, I still can't believe that my sweet baby is going to college now. I'm so proud of you." *With teary eyes and a smile, she pulled her son into a tight bearhug, only letting go after she thought she was taking to long. "Do you promise to be good and keep all your grades up?"
"When have I ever not done such a thing?" Samuel joked around a little with a smile before kissing his mom's cheek. "I love you mom. Stay safe." She nodded and hugged once more before finally leaving. With a sigh, the boy closed the door behind him and started to unpack. After about an hour of sorting out his stuff, the lock on his door unlocked and his body tensed.
"..shit." Samuel turned around to find a blond, bruised and bloody male now sitting on the opposite bed. This was his roommate? He couldn't believe his odds. He just hoped that things like this wouldn't keep happening often. "What?" The boy blinked once he realized he had just been staring for a few minutes without saying anything.
"Um..are you okay?" He asked hesitantly, not really sure what to do about this situation. This is why he hated going outside into the real world.
"I'm fine. Just don't talk to me." Well that was at least one thing the ravenette didn't mind doing. But he couldn't just leave his stranger of a roommate bleeding like this. So, silently, he got up and went to the bathroom to search for a first aid kit. Once he returned he found the other laying down with his eyes closed.
Samuel's first thought was that he was staring at a now dead body but that thought diminished once he realized the other was still breathing. Cautiously, he walked up to blond and cleared his throat a little.
"I thought I said don't talk to me."
"I know b-but, um, you're bleeding pretty badly so I thought you might want to use this.." He held up the first aid kit amd watched as his roommate began to take it.
"Thanks but-" The blond grabbed the first aid kit amd flung it across the room so hard that Samuel flinched when it hit the wall. "No thanks."
Now was the time Samuel really wanted to go back home and forget completely about this place. He wanted his mom, his entire family. But instead he was stuck with this probably leathal jerk for the next year. Samuel climbed into his bed and pulled the covers over his head, trying to take his mind off of everything just happened. This was going to be one very excruciating long school year.
