A Good Laugh

The sounds of the alarm wakes a groggy eyed Sarah. Sadly, she had to get up and go to school on this snowy Monday. She brushes her hair and puts on a cute outfit for the season, an ugly Christmas sweater and leggings. She walks out the door after brushing her teeth and grabbing her flute and bag. She quickly walks down to hop on her bus.

"Ugh, I hate Monday," Sarah complained

"Me too Sarah," her best friend, Maddie, groaned. The bus pulls to a stop in front of Mount Masser Area High. "Welcome to Hell!" Maddie said jokingly.

The warning bell rings just as they step into the school. Maddie and Sarah pop into their first periods and head down to their band lesson. A grueling 40 minutes of scales and tonging exercises later, they are dismissed to second period. For Maddie she heads to Spanish, for Sarah, Latin "Adios!" Maddie calls out.

"Vale!" Sarah shouts out as her friend quickly progresses down the hallway. She sits down in her new favorite class. Right next to her sat a brown haired, green eyed jock, named Chase. He was the quarterback of the Varsity football team, and a dreamy one at that. She glances over at him and his girlfriend. She noticed she had not worn the necklace he had bought her after she had one first place in a cheer completion last Friday. Sarah had a sneaky suspicion she sold it, like the rub earrings he gifted her on her birthday. Just as she is done day dreaming about him leaving the cheer captain and chasing her the bell sounds. The principal comes on the announcements at the start of third period to announce an early lunch and dismissal. She grabs her books and hurries to her locker to grab her bag. She then walks to the cafeteria with Maddie and the other band kids.

"Did you see the post about you on After School?" Maddie asks excitedly.

" No? What does it say?" Sarah looks over at Maddie's phone. The words "Sarah is the only good thing about my second period," pop up on the screen.

"What if it were Chase?" Maddie said excitedly.

"We both know that wont happen." Sarah chuckled. They both had a good laugh.
