This is a fictional journal. This is based on the history of the men who served in the Air Force in World War Two. This is not meant to diminish their expertise, nor diminish their bravery when serving their country. I only mean to provide my attempt at providing a story.

Now that I've got that out of the way... Yes, this will be an ongoing series with parts being published when I've got the time or the chance to write the journal entries.

My name is John Wikers. I served in the British Royal Air Force and then in the American Air Force when World War II came along. I was young, hot-headed, and immature when World War II came along. I believed it would be a quick and glorious fight... I was soon to be proven wrong. My tragedies are laid down in this journal. My heroics too, are laid down in this journal. Everyone I came to know are laid down in this journal. These are their experiences.

First, some background knowledge is needed. I was born in a small town in Ohio. That town is long gone, wasted away by progression. I will always remember that town, that place which was so dear to my heart. It was... A perfect place to grow up. It had morals, and an educational system which provided me with many opportunities. I, however, went to leave that town. I went to the United Kingdom, when I heard that a Second World War broke out. I then tried to enter the Air Force. I failed the entrance exam and fell dispossessed of my ability to fight. Then I realized something. I should try again. Maybe something will change.

And I did. Over and over. I failed that exam three more times. I fell into the same process until the eventful night of December thirty-first, nineteen thirty-nine, when I successfully was initiated into the Eagle Corps.

For any prospective military students, I say this. It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter what ideology you belong to. Just run with it. Fight for what you believe. And defend your country with pride.
