The One Year Journey (a Justin Bieber fan fiction)

Katie's P.O.V

For the fourth time this morning I heard my Mum, Vicky, shout upstairs to me. Why couldn't she just leave me alone?!

"Kate, are you getting ready sweetie? We're leaving in about an hour, make sure you have packed everything, we won't be coming home for a long time!"

"I'll make sure I'm ready by then, don't worry!" I said, wiping a falling tear off my freshly powered cheek bone.

This was it. Today was the big day. Not just for me but for everyone. Today was the day our lives would change forever.

Mum had met a man online on a stupid dating site so she was dragging me and all of my childhood memories to a far away place in Canada. She had briefly told me that our new house was located in a small town called Stratford. I was not looking forward to moving to unfamiliar surroundings in a totally different environment but I knew how much this meant to Mum. She was obviously really excited that her love life was looking positive for the first time in a long while. So being the kind person I am I agreed to go along with her to fulfil her dreams. She had convinced me that it would be better than staying with my Grandparents for the rest of my life. And when I took a while to think about it I thought, well if Mum was happy then I certainly was too.

Just before I triple checked that all of my belongings were packed tightly in my case, I heard a buzz. It was my best friend calling. I dived across my bed to answer it as quick as I could.

"Hey babe!" She said, sounding just as upset as I had thought she would be.

"Hey, you ok?"

"Not really."

"Me neither, I can't believe I'm about to hit the airport in less than an hour!" I said, crying.

"I'm going to miss you more than we both realise, you know that don't you?"

"Of course, I'll miss you loads!"

"We'll still keep in contact, right?"

"Definitely, I'll Skype you every day if you want me to? And before I have to go I just want to say a huge thank you for always being there for me for the past six years. I don't honestly know what I would have done without you. Even though we'll be almost four thousand miles away, just remember that you will always be my best friend, okay?"

" Okay, well I'll let you get everything together and can you do me a favour?"

"Depends what it is, haha."

"Look out for Justin, Ryan and Chaz, okay?"

"Sure I will." I said chuckling to myself.

"And if you meet them..."

"I will give them your number." I interrupted, knowing exactly what she was about to say.

"You know me too well, you best get going anyway. So I'll talk to you on Skype as soon as you arrive in Stratford, okay?"

"Promise, bye, I love you!"

"Love you too!"

I knew I would regret it but I hung up the phone for the very last time, whilst I was in England anyway.
