Roommates (a Niall Horan Fanfic)

Chapter 1: The Beginning

°~Emily's POV~°

"Mom I'll be ok." I reassure my mother as I pack the rest of my suitcase. "I know....it's just so hard to see my baby girl grow up and leave for collage." my mom says as a tear slips from her eye and onto her cheek. I look up at her and smile softly. "I'll come back to visit when I can I promise." I whisper as I wipe away the tear. She smiles and looks at me before she sighs and says, "I know you will. You are just like your father after all. Looks and all." At the mention of my dad I tear up. "I miss him." I whisper as I look into her green eyes. She smiles at me and says "I know sweetie. He would be so proud of you. But right now we gotta be strong for him. I'll be downstairs. All you have left to pack is bedding." I nod at her words as she leaves my room. I sigh and take a step back looking into my now empty room. College. Who would have thought?

After packing all my things, I take my backpack, tree suitcases, and three travel bags down the stairs. I walk into the kitchen and see my mom holding a tray of my favorite cookies. Peanut butter and monster cookies. I smile and say, "I'll take them in a second. I gotta put my stuff in my car." She just smiles warmly and says, " Well alright hun. I'll be in the study when you come back inside." "ok." I say as I grab my keys. I walk outside to my yellow camaro with black racing stripes. I had him painted just like bumblebee off of transformers. The first movie. God he's my favorite. Anyways....I open the door and place my things inside the back of the car.

I walk inside and go to the study first. "I'm leaving." I say softly to my mother as she turns around from grabbing a wrapped up box. She smiles and says, "OK hun. Take this. It was supposed to be a present from your father for when you left but then....anyways take it." as she hands me the wrapped up gift. I look at her with tears in my eyes and hug her. "I love you mom." "I love you too Emily."  I smile and pull away. She walks with me as I grab the tray of cookies and outside. I place them in the seat next to me and hug her before getting in the car and starting the engine. As I pull out of the drive, I smile and wave to my mom and take a look at my house. I sigh and leave for college. "This is gonna be fun..."

(say this in a spongebob narrator voice)
                *Two Hours Later*

After my Two hour long drive was over, I finally make it to DCU, or Dublin College University. I sigh as I turn off my car and open the door. I step out and look around, kinda like in the movies. I turn around and see all these people walking around, chatting with their mates. "Well ain't I a lovely sack of potatos..." I think to myself as I sigh and open my car door to get my belongings. "Don't really think you"'ll be able to carry all the by yourself up the stairs." I here a cheery voice say from behind me. I jump and turn around to come face to face with a beautiful girl. "Hi I'm Kaytlyn!" the girl says brightly as she sticks out her hand for me to shake. I smile and say "Emily.  Nice to meet you." She smiles and offers to help me carry my things. I nod and thank her. "Do you know what dorm area your in?" she asks me. I shake my head no and she smiles. "Well I'll take you to the sign in. They Will give you your room and key." she says. "I hope were either close by or together" I say with a smile as I look up at her. (yes she's taller than me but not by much!)

Kaytlyn laughs and looks at me with a smile. "Me too." she says as we enter a building. "hello ladies. How can I help you?" a nice old woman asks us. "I need to figure out where my room is." I say with a smile. The lady smiles at me and asks for my name. As she rings up my name I look at her name tag. Anna. She looks like an Anna. Nice and cute. She hands me my room key and say your in hall quill. Have a good year ladies." I smile and yell out to her as we leave you too anna!" "Do you know her?" Kaytlyn asks me as we walk out. "No I looked at her name tag." I reply with a laugh. As we walk to the hall I frown. "You said your in what hall again Kayt?" "Kayt?" kaytlyn questions as we stop intron of the hall. "New nickname." I explain with a smile. Kaytlyn just laughs and shrugs. "I'm in hall pierce" I frown and say, "damn. I wish we were in the same one." "same. But my hall is across from yours so we're not to far away. Give me your phone." Kayt says as she sticks out her hand that isn't holding anything. I grab my phone and hand it to her. She puts her number in. All the sudden we hear laughing. I look at Kayt and she groans. "Ugh why can't you leave me alone Niall?" she asks. Out of no where a tall blonde boy with beautiful blue eyes steps out from behind a tree. "Stop qawking. But dammmnnnn." I think to myself as I check to see if I'm drooling. Nope. I'm good. The handsome God laughs and says, " Awe my baby sister got a friend. And might I say she's pretty fine looking." he says as he eyes me making my cheeks heat up and me look down. "Shut up Niall. Your so gross." Kaytlyn says punching his arm. He just chuckles and kisses the top of her head before walking into the hall. I let out a girly sigh and look at her. "Hes pretty hot." I say asbo look at her with a smirk.

Kaytlyn just roles her eyes and hands my my bags. "Thanks. I'll message you later." I say with a smile. "Ok have fun. And avoid my brother at all costs. He's a player. Just saying." she yells as she runs off with a smile. As soon as the word player leaves her lips I groan. "Future husband no more." I think as I walk to my room. I. Finally find room 633 and open it up to see none other than niall. I groan inwardly and look at him. "Well well." he says as he looks at my with a smirk. I huff and go and try to place my things in the top bunk. But I drop a few things on the ground. I hear a chuckle and see him walk over and put the things that fell into my bed. I mutter a thanks and clump onto the bed. Niall leans against my bed and smiles at me. I look at him and turn to unpack my things. "Need help?" I hear him ask. "Oh dear Lord his voice is gorgeous"  I think to myself as I shake my head no. I hear him sign and sit down. I pull my cloths down and go the the empty closet and hand things up, and put my head and underwear in drawers. I turn around to see Niall grabbing a cookie out of my tray. I sigh and run a hand through my hair before putting everything else away. "This is gonna be a long year.."

Hey all. I hope you like this first chapter. I made it kinda long so it would seem good. None of the halls are the actual names and I Don't know if they have mixed gender rooms so Don't tell at me.
