The sun peeked through my curtains, flowing over my bed and shining in my eyes. "Ugghh!" I groan rolling over to look at the clock, it read 6:30 AM. Time to get out of bed and get ready for school. I rolled off the side of my bed and shoved my feet into a pair of slippers that were sitting next to my bed, I shuffled over to the bathroom rubbing my eyes as I went. I get to have my own bathroom in my room, so I didn't have to worry about sharing. I pull off my large sweatshirt and short-shorts, and climb into my small shower that doubled as a bathtub. Turning on the water I sigh as it runs over my cold form, slowly warming me up. I never liked getting up for school, seeing as it started at 8:00 in the morning, but I did like attending and learning there. After I washed my hair, body, and face I turned off the water and stepped out of the shower, I wrapped a towel around my waist and grabbed a small towel for my hair. I rubbed the towel down my body and dried my hair with the other towel. "I guess I'll just wear my usual hoodie and leggings today," I say grabbing a grey hoodie with my school's logo on it out of my closet, then I walk to my dresser and pick out a black pair of leggings. I quickly brush and blow-dry my hair, tying my hair in a pony-tail as I walk to the kitchen to make a quick breakfast. "Bye mom, love you!" I yell running out the door with an apple in my hand, school starts in half an hour and it takes 15 minutes to walk there. I take a bite out of the apple and start jogging toward the school to get a head start. I'm not very fit, so after about 2 minutes I slow down and bend over to catch my breath. "Hey, Wills!" I hear Nick, my boyfriend yell as he bikes up next to me. When we first got together we both decided to give each other cute nicknames, his name Nicky, he chose mine as Wills, short for Willow. "Oh! Hey, babe!" I reply stopping to talk to him as he puts the stand on his bike down. We had arrived at school and I waited as he walked his bike to the rack. He walked back to where I was standing and intertwined my fingers with his. I loved holding his hand, it felt like he was part of me, sending warmth through my hand and up my arm into my heart. I loved him so much, I hope we never split up. My friends always say we are the cutest and perfect couple. I agree with them, we hardly ever argue and if we do it usually ends up with one of being tickled and laughing. I enjoy hanging out with Nick truly, he is the most kind person I have ever met. We walk to first period together and take our usual spots in the back next to each other. The teacher knew that I was "special" so he lets me get out of class when needed, Nick never doubted or asked questions about why I leave he just tells me he'll catch me up on what we're learning in class. So when I felt my eyes start to water, and my hands start to twitch I knew I needed to leave. I raised my hand and the teacher nodded his head to allow me to leave, "Take your agenda so you don't get caught," Nick reminded me as I got up. I grabbed my agenda and jogged quickly out of the class, I couldn't let anyone see what happens to me. I had to learn to control this, or I would never be able to live happily. I burst into the girl's bathroom and looked in the mirror, my eyes had changed from a dark brown to a vibrant purple. I was part Willow-beast, that's where my name comes from. Willow-beasts are magical creatures that are partly human, they are ten times stronger than people and faster, but the worst part about us are we are meat eaters. We love meat, some eat small animals, but ironically enough I'm a vegetarian. I vowed that I wouldn't eat anything meat related, that would just make the beast part of me stronger than my real self. Control it, calm down, calm down, don't let it show! I chanted to myself, willing my eyes to change back, and my hands to return to normal from the claws that were starting to form. Maybe it's time to tell Nick about what's wrong with me, that way he can help me over come this and he won't have to guess why I leave all the time. I splash some water over my face and make sure my eyes are normal before leaving the bathroom and heading back to class. I slide into my seat and Nick whispers that we were learning about algebraic equations and how to solve them. "Come home with me after school, I have something I need to tell you," I whisper to him after he explains the lesson. "Ok, I'll meet you in the front of the school after the first bell," he replies a look of concern flashing across his face but he replaces it with a smile. This is good, it will be so much better after I tell him the secret that's been weighing me down all these years. If he understands, he can help me get through this obstacle in my life. If he doesn't, well let's just hope that doesn't happen. I couldn't bear to think of what would happen if he didn't accept me for who I am, who I really am.
