"Come on, please stick with me on this one? We'll make food."
Celeste stared at her, in a dilemma.
"Fine." Celeste groaned, letting go of the doorknob and spinning around.
"You're a legilimens!" Newt said, surprised.
"Mm, yeah, but I always have trouble for your kind," Queenie nodded towards Celeste and Newt. "Brits. It's the accent."
"..You know—how to—read my mind?" Jacob said in between chokes.
"Oh, don't worry honey," Queenie turned all her attention back to Jacob. "Most guys think what you was thinking first time they see me. Now you, need, food."
Queenie spun around, and walked to join Tina by the dining table.
Someone tapped Celeste on the back, and she jumped.
"Holy mother of Merlin!"
"Uh, Cel, can we talk please?" Newt asked, calling Celeste by her old nickname.
"Sure..." Celeste replied, and followed Newt to the other room, looking back at Tina and mouthing: "HELP ME". Tina just smiled and winked.
"It's been a long time, Cel, how are you?" Newt said awkwardly.
"Good," Celeste said, giving him a small smile. Now that the initial shock of seeing Newt was gone, it was actually quite odd to suddenly be talking to him again. "I uh, graduated Hogwarts, worked at the Ministry of Magic for a few months, then moved here because of the disappearance of Grindelwald." Celeste explained.
"I thought you were going to work with magical creatures?"
"Well.. I didn't really have a choice, they chose me for my skill in forensics, really."
Newt nodded in understanding.
"Well, where've you been then?" Celeste questioned.
"I, uh, after.. Leaving the school went to work at the Ministry of Magic at the Office of House-Elf Relocation," Celeste raised her eyebrow at a flustered looking Newt. "then I got transferred to the Beast Division, and, now I'm travelling the world to research for a book."
Celeste nodded, "A book, huh? What's it going to be called?"
"I.. Don't know, yet."
"Well, how about--"
"-- Hey Mr. Scamander, Ms. Edgecombe?" Both heads turned to the voice, happening to be Queenie. "You guys prefer pie of strudel?"
"I really don't have a preference." Celeste and Newt said in unison, earning odd looks from Jacob and Tina.
"You prefer strudel huh honey?" Queenie smiled wide at Jacob.
Jacob, chuckled a bit, and nodded, tucking a napkin in his shirt.
"Strudel it is!"
Everyone watched, mesmerized, as Queenie put together the ingredients for her strudel and settled it down on the table.
"Well, sit down Celeste, Mr. Scamander," Tina said, and at the looks of hesitation on their faces, she added: "we're not gonna poison you guys."
Celeste and Newt stayed on the seats they had sat on to talk, staring unsurely. And it was when Jacob nodded towards the table for us to sit down in a kind of maddening eye roll, that Celeste (who let out a small chuckle) and Newt finally left their seats and reluctantly headed for the table.

"Could you stop reading, my mind for a second?" Jacob asked, trying to be polite.
The entire time the group of people were eating, it had been terribly awkward for Celeste, Newt, and Tina, as they watched Jacob and Queenie 'chat' with one another.
It included Celeste and Newt making eye contact and then averting their eyes over and over again, with Tina glaring a little at the friendliness between Queenie and Jacob, Jacob being a muggle, or a no-maj, as American's call them.
"Don't get me wrong, I-I love it!" Jacob said, smoothing the awkward situation over.
They both laughed, leaning in and smiling. Celeste's inner squealing of cuteness was threatening to come out.
"This, meal, it's insanely. good. This is what I do, I'm a--I'm a cook and this is like, the greatest meal I've ever had in my life!" Jacob complimented, looking at Newt, Tina, and Celeste, who all gave polite smiles before looking down when Jacob turned away from them to face Queenie, where the couple laughed hysterically.
"Oh! You slay me! I never really talked to a no-maj before.." Queenie whispered the last sentence.
"Huh. Really?" Jacob asked rhetorically.
Everyone took this awkward silence to look down, and, Queenie, noticing it, moved back from her close proximity to Jacob and muttered sadly:
"I am not flirting."
Tina looked conflicted for a moment, finally replying.
"I'm just saying, don't go getting attached, he's going to have to be obliviated. It's nothing personal." He reassured Jacob.
"Ms. Goldstein I think, Kowalski and Edgecombe can do the early night." Newt saved the sad moment, getting out of his chair. "Besides you, her and I will need to be up early tomorrow to find my niffler.. So.."
Queenie scrunched her face up in confusion, looking to Tina.
"What's a niffler?"
"Don't ask, you guys can bunk in here," Tina gestured to a room. "and you, Celeste, are coming with me."
"Come on, can't I just Apparate here tomorrow morning?"
"No."
Celeste groaned, standing up from her chair and Tina following against her will while Newt and Jacob followed Queenie to another room.
Getting to an empty guest room, Celeste plopped down on the bed in her uncomfortable clothes and stared at the ceiling, waiting for the right moment.
When she was sure Tina and Queenie were settled, she Apparated out of the apartment.
