"Hey Goldstein, Edgecombe!" Red, the goblin, said, seeing Newt, Celeste, and Tina standing in front of the elevator.

"Hey Red." Said Tina flatly.

They entered the elevator, Tina following Newt and Celeste closely behind.

"Ahem, Major Investigation Department." 

"I thought you was--"

"--Major Investigation Department, I got a Section 3A." Tina muttered to the goblin. Red jabbed at a button and they were pulled underground.

When they arrived at the department, all heads turned to them. They were in the middle of a meeting.

Celeste groaned inwardly when she remembered she was meant to be part of this meeting and completely forgot.

"I made your position here quite clear Ms. Goldstein," President Picquery said, and then glared at Celeste. "you seem to be skiving off your meetings, Ms. Edgecombe." 

Celeste gave a weak smile, scratching her neck impulsively and looking at her shoes.

"Heh. Sorry...?"

But Tina, ignoring this, interrupted.

"Yes, Madam President but--"

"--You're no longer an auror."

 ".....No. Madam President but they--"

"--Goldstein."

"There's been a mi--"

"--This office is currently concerned with very, major incidents. Get out."

"Yes m'am." Goldstein said nervously, and led Newt and Celeste out of the Department, bringing them even more underground. 

"So you got your wand permit?" Tina asked Newt the moment they got to the Wand Permit Office. "All foreigners have to have them in New York."

"I-I made a postal application weeks ago." Newt replied, grabbing his case from the floor.

"Scamander... And you were just an equatorial guinea?"

"I just completed a year in the fields, I'm writing a book about magical creatures."

"Like an extermination guide?"

Celeste shuddered.

"No, a guide to help people understand why we should protect these creatures instead of killing them."

"Goldstein! Edgecombe! Where are they? Where are they?!" Tina hid behind the desk while Celeste sighed as Abernathy came busting in.

"Edgecombe! Did you just forget to attend a very important meeting? And wheres Goldstein?!"

Tina reluctantly got out of her hiding place.

Tina looked guiltily at Abernathy, while Celeste gave a sigh of exasperation.

"Goldstein, did you just butt in on the investigative team?" And when there was no answer: "Where have you guys been?"

"What?" Tina squeaked out.

It was Abernathy's time to sigh in exasperation. He turned around to face Newt.

"Where'd they pick you up?"

"...Me?" Newt didn't say anything else.

"Have you been tracking the Second Salemers again?" Abernathy asked Tina suspiciously.

"Of course not, sir."

Hearing footsteps, Abernathy turned his head to see Percival Graves, another auror working at MACUSA. Celeste had been suspicious of him from the very start.
