I feel like Thanksgiving is a cover holiday, if you know what I mean. No? Okay. Allow me to explain. That's what this rant is about, anyways.
Is it just me or does everyone start preparing for Christmas right after Halloween? No? That's what I thought. In fact, I'm listening to Christmas music right at this instant.
But that's beside the point. Sure, we all at least acknowledge Thanksgiving, but in my opinion, it's just another excuse for a week of vacation and a fancy dinner. No one even really thinks about what they are thankful for anyways.
I mean, sure we give it a shot:
family, friends, food, li- wait, what's for dinner? Lasagna again? Can I go to Mary's house? They're having pasta.
So on and so forth. I actually made a poem about the things I am thankful for. (Obviously, it was a school project)
This year I am thankful for-
Promise, faith, love, and more...
For all the family, friends, and fun
For hope and peace for everyone
For bright blue skies and pouring rain
For long railways and high-speed trains
For long days of school and vacation, too
For red velvet cakes and barbecue
For music, plays, and art galore
For Wifi, candy, books, and more
For dancing, dancing in the rain
For mountain hikes and porcelain
For droplets of water gathering on swans
For shining dew collecting on lawns
For beads of sunshine glistening through leaves
For crickets chirping, the buzzing of bees
For Mother Nature, casting her spell
For ice-cream from Bluebell and caramel
For when the bright sun rises and sets
For laughter and health, for cute, furry pets
These are the things I am thankful for
In the past, in the present, and forever more
But before I end, I want to hear:
What are the things you are thankful for this year?
Of course, you don't have to answer the question, but it just goes to show how much people want to believe they are good people and show off what they are 'thankful for'. (I also somehow forgot to add music and cussing in there, but, seeing that it was a school project for English, my teacher probably would have reminded me of my language with that second one)
Also - Santa sees you when your sleeping - isn't that a bit creepy?
(That, right above you, is exactly 365 words. Illuminati confirmed much considering that this is a rant about the year?)

Remind me to do a rant on the illuminati.
Anyhooo... Back on to the topic.- What was the topic?
Thanksgiving, right.
So I did (In other words, looked back at my first grade Thanksgiving hand turkey. Damn my hand was tiny...) a little research on the history of Thanksgiving. Here's what I found:
#1:Abraham Lincoln was the guy who made Thanksgiving an official holiday. I honesty don't know whether to fist bump him on the hand, or on the head. :)
#2: I-- Jk! ;) I'm not gonna tell you! Do the research yourself!!!! (in other words, there was nothing else on my hand turkey)

I mean, I don't know about you, but my Thanksgiving sucked. Why else would I be here on Wattpad talking to you?
Just kidding! ;)
But seriously, it was lame. I mean, I didn't even eat turkey. Like, seriously? Dude! Thanksgiving is about turkey! Not, like, thankfulness...
