Silence

Moonlight

  Thunder yowled and thrashed around.

Ray stared at his shining eyes and smiled.

The air was cold and chilly, bringing the senses of winter in the air. The stringy trees were bare and the wolves dens were covered in a thin layer of snow. It wasn't a big problem. But it wasn't a small one either.

Flora sneezed and whimpered, her breath turning into a whisp.

Lightning licked the pups scruffs and glanced at their mother.

"Ray they are true Moonlight warriors, I can tell."
Ray flickered her ear and nodded.

Thunder looked at both his parents and grinned.

A black small wolf, crawled into an opening in the wall.

"Ray."The female mumbled.

A bundle of fur sat next to her.
The bundle had redish brown hue fur and had two blue big dots.

The figure moved and Thunder realized it was an other pup.

A female who trampled over to him and Flora.

Ray and Lightning chuckled along with Quino, a wolf he had once seen.

Thunder sniffed the girl and they three all played together.

Ray cleared her throat and whispered.
"Quino, what.. no who is she?"

Quino steaded her green eyes.
"A pup from the Forgotten pack."

"How.. Quino.."

Quino's white tipped ears shook.

"I found her, she's mine."

Her mate, Natpoi had died in the fall from an illiness called Drago.
She had been dreaming of pups but can now never have any.

"That's selfish and you know that."Lightning scroffed.

"But we will help you."Ray pitched in.

"Thank you guys so much."Quino glanced at the female pup. "Her name is Amber."

Amber padded toward to a smokey grey furball and prodded him.

"Let's play."

Thunder pushed her away.

"Tapitos is sick, at least I think so."

Flora nodded.
"I asked mommy and daddy."

Amber drooped her whiskers.
"Oh, sorry."

Thunder put his tail to her shoulder.

"Oh well, let's play!"

Ray, Lightning and Quino carried their pups to a open area, where the snow was piling up.

"Ray.. I am so sorry..."Quino whimpered.

Ray nodded.
"All things die."

Thunder, Flora and Amber gave questioned looks to one another.

Lightning held Tapito's cold body to the ground.

A couple of wolves stood to watch and give prayers to the dead wolf.

Lightning, the chief of the pack raised his head.

"Tapito was my child.. and died of a sickness. I would like my elders of the pack to help bury him."

Thunder, Flora, and Amber squealed as Ray cried.

Thunder looked at his dead brother's body.

No... he didn't die... Yes he did a voice in the back of his head hissed.

They are lowered their heads away from the Moonlight and stars.
