"MAYBE ONE DAY" I THOUGHT as I played with the thin wire of my ear-phones. The cool wind caresses my skin, sending chills run down my body. The low music fills my satisfied ears as I bob my head slightly to the beat.
A gentle tap on my shoulder snaps me out of my nightdream. I slightly twist my upper body around as I turn my head. My eyes meet dark brown ones, then dart around the unfamiliar face.
A pale girl stares back at me as she study's me as well. Her big brown eyes full of curiosity. Her pink lips twitch up seconds later, breaking out into a pretty smile.
She clears her throat and that's when I realize I was staring to long. I quickly pull my earphones out. "Yes?" I finally speak, my eyes flickering to hers.
"Oh, may I ask why you are here?" She asks with a smile.
"Why?" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion, glancing around the field.
"It's closing, sir." She chuckles lightly, showing her straight row of white, purely teeth.
"Okay?" I raise a brow.
"You have to leave, sir."
"My name isn't sir." I scowl slightly but she doesn't seem fazed.
"Then what is your name?" The girl tilts her head. Her hair hangs from her head, the wind pushing it back, slightly.
"Devin," I mutter, avoiding her gaze.
"Well, Devin, you have to leave."
"Well-" as I'm about to say something, a deep voice interrupts me.
"Is there a problem, Everest?" The man asks as he shines a flashlight towards us. His piercing eyes never leave me as he talks, Acting as if I'm going to attack him.
"No, I'm just letting him know that the field is closing," the girl shrugs, glancing at me.
"Sorry kid, the field is closing. You're gonna have to leave." The man informs.
"I go here all the time, It never closes." I protest, slightly glaring at the man.
"Things changed, kid. Now I'm gonna need you to leave."
"Fine" I roll my eyes, pulling myself up with a low grunt.
"You know the way to the exit?" The man asks.
I just said I come here all the time and he thinks I don't know where the exit is?
"No" I Sarcastically say, widening my eyes a bit.
