(Princess's POV)
Oh it is always so dreary here. So dull. Yes as being the king's only child I was given anything and everything I've wanted, but alas I am quite spoiled because of it. I have a hard time going without what I want, or doing what others ask. Recently father had been looking for a spouse worthy of me. The search had not been successful.
"Not that one either?" He sighs as I leave the latest meeting.
"Sire, she has just gotten back, surely her mind must be clouded from the long journey." The Grand Duke pitches in.
"Maybe you're right. She has only been back a few days." Father says this and pauses. "In fact! I think we shall celebrate this occasion! Let's throw a welcome back ball! It will be perfect!" He chirps excitedly. No doubt thinking that a suitor perfect for me might be there.
"Oh wonderful idea sire!" The Duke smiles.
"The preparations start immediately. The party is to be tomorrow night!" Oh boy. This time he has high expectations. I look to the Duke and feel bad for him as his face sinks.
"B-b-but sire, that soon?" He stutters in disbelief. The king turns to the duke with an intensity that is terrifying. He really DOES have high expectations for this one.
"Yes. Is that a problem?" It wasn't like he was actually asking, it was more like he was daring the duke to say something.
"N-no s-Sire! N-n-n-not at all!" The Duke panics a bit, twisting his fingers.
"Good." His smile returns and his pats the duke on the back. "I expect this to be a very large affair. Invite every eligible person in the kingdom. Got it?" The duke gulps and nods. "Good luck!~" Father then leaves to attend with more work.
"Oh my..." The duke sighs and rubs his temples. "Whatever shall I do?" He wallows for a bit before realizing I'm there. "Oh erm sorry, I missed that you were there..." He half heartedly, more awkwardly, smiles.
"No problem." I smile. "If you need any ideas you should probably send invitations first." I grin. Though I wasn't looking forward to finding a suitor I WAS looking forward to the ball. There hasn't been one in ages! I rush off to my room to think about what to wear.
(Cinderella's POV)
" A dream is a wish your heart makes~" I sing as a work washing the floors. Today was like any other day. I got up, I prepared my brother's and step mother's breakfast, woke them and gathered their landry, then fed the animals...and that horrible cat lucifer. Lucifer walks by on the freshly cleaned floor with his muddy, dirty, paws and I say a silent curse. "You damn cat..."
Sighing as walked over to the mess, I hear the doorbell ring. I quickly scamper over to the door right as the letter fell through the mail slot. Scooping it up and rushing up stairs to the music room I see the Royal seal. "Oh madam." I call my stepmother this because she absolutely hates the fact that legally I am her daughter. I hardly knock before walking into the room. Erick is playing the cello while Elliot was singing, they both stop and look at me, glaring daggers at me.
"Cinderella! What are you even doing here?!" Erick hisses at me.
"Indeed Cinderella. I have told you not to disturb us when they are practicing." Madam say, not as viciously as Erick but definitely cold.
"I-I brought y-y-you the mail, I-it ha-has the royal seal o-n it." I stutter. Everyone's eyes widen, Elliot and Erick are the first to move. Elliot snatched the letter from my hands and then he and Erick began to fight over it.
