Have you ever wanted to get to know someone better, so you ask them what their favourite things are, like candy, video game, school subject, etc.? That's facts about them; that isn't getting to know them.
To get to know someone isn't to know that their favourite band is P!ATD, it's knowing how they react on certain subjects. To know someone is to know how they act, how they feel, to know what they're feeling just by how they're sitting and their expression.
If you want to know facts about me, here you go: my favourite video game is minecraft. My favourite movie is the Iron Giant, and my favourite song is Immortals by Fall Out Boy.
But that's not me. That's surface facts, not the guts and glory, and pain and joy that I am. I'm such a paradox, and a goof, and I think all the time about so much, and such different things, like the content of this book.
It's ashame that some people are gonna miss out on what a marvelous book you are because they only decided to stick around to read the cover description.
