Today, I sat up in our tree and really opened my eyes. I took in all the colors that surrounded me. The peach pigmented sky, traced with cotton candy pinks and lavender purples painted against the solid background of a pale blue. The fields of golden amber swayed in the breeze that made the crimson and mustard leaves crinkle together in marble swirls of foliage. There was only one problem. I could only think of one person I wanted to enjoy that moment of brilliant beauty with. Nature is for lovers. The secluded forests and the open fields were made to contain the wild and raw feelings. It is all for those who's hearts rest in each others hands. But my hands are empty. Un-held, my fingers are laced within my own. So I sit alone and simply dream. I dream of what it would be like to sit quietly in this very tree, and let the lively wind carry my whispers of love, like a soft, smooth melody to the lock on your caged heart. Maybe it would finally open and you could begin to feel again.
