Chapter 1 ~ Unobtainable Popularity

News hadn't yet spread of the great tragedy that occurred last night, everyone but the teachers and the police knew. 

It was a simple Thursday  night, just like any other, some people were out, some were studying, but most were watching Netflix. Most teachers had gone home 4:30, some stayed, some went home on the bell like the students.

It happened in Technology. If you think about it, that general area was the perfect place, with science being up the stairs and languages along the hallway, it gave a lot of easy access to the teachers. All the mechanical murder weapons lying in wait, the chemical cleaners waiting to be used, the science textbooks that could give information on how to clear the area forensically.

Getting back to it, no-one had seen Jay all morning, which was odd considering he's the one who was making all the noise, being an attention seeker in the hopes of achieving a goal that everyone, excluding Jay himself, of course, knew was unobtainable for him, popularity.

The zombie-like year 9's dragged their feet, blissfully unaware, unburdened by the news that was about to fall upon their moderately innocent shoulders. Row by row all attendees shuffled into the assembly, footwear being scrutinised, despite the lack of decorum that this act was demonstrating.

"Now that you've all sat down in your seats, we have some unfortunate news to share with your year group, this may come as a shock and may even upset some of you, but the school board has decided it best for us to tell you, rather than you finding out on social media" 

Beresford paused trying to think of a way to be delicate with the way he phrased the coming sentance, but just as he was about to begin his co-worker Miss Williams, an Italian teacher, cut him off 

"Jay is dead"
