Beatrice in Picture above:
7 YEARS EARLIER
"Don't forget about your homework dear, Medieval times are very important. So is Middle school, Beatrice! Are you listening to me?"
The music flooded my room. I couldn't hear my mom but I knew she was talking. She never learns! When my music is blasting, I don't feel like talking. I feel like thinking! I closed my eyes and thought about what it would have been like if I actually said more than two words to Henri. Stupid Henri! Screw Henri! I don't have to talk to him he can talk to me! What? I don't even know. I don't even know. Do I?
" I need a break." I turned down We Don't Believe What's on TV by Twenty One Pilots as my mom walked in.
" I have been calling you. You weren't ignoring me, were you?"
" Mom, was my music on?"
" Yes."
" And what do I do when my music is on?"
" Stop being a smart ass with me. Do your homework."
She came up and pulled my long brown curls from my blue eyes.
" Stop." I said.
" I just hate when your hair is in your face. You can't see."
" Yes I can. I mean, thanks mom. Bye!"
She rolled her eyes and started for the doorway.

I love my mom she is the best.
