There she laid, spread across the soft yellow sand as the waves crashed into one another. Creating soft splurs of noise. Her noiseless breaths creating divots in the sand.
There he sat, legs crossed, looking out into the illuminated sky. Rarely glancing down at the girl spread across the sand. Her beauty almost compelling as her chest nut brown eyes remain closed. Only once had he'd seen the girl with chest nut brown eyes, with her ear buds in, head hung low.
Her problem wasn't particularly with the world, it was the people. And how they treated one another, how they treated her. The people whom populate the Earth are not kind souls, much aren't anyway. He's never understood why people continue to treat her the way they do. But he's too caught up in his own selfishness to help, too scared of what they'll do to him when or if he ever buds in.
The beach wind making the boy shudder, goosebumps erecting. "Shit it's cold" he whispers to himself.
"I know" a soft voice says back, he looks up, the once sleeping beauty, stands right in front of him. He'd never seen or heard her awaken.
"Yeah..." he trails off, looking down at his fingers
"I'm Quinn" The girl says quietly, her small arms wrapped around her tiny figure, a desperate look on her face as she struggles to produce warmth.
A small, yet, reassuring smile appears on his face. Quinn's heart flutter and she smiles back briefly. "I'm Luke"
They both smile again, producing silence. They look at each other, lost in one another's eyes, both wondering 'what are you doing here?'
Luke looks down, uncrossing his long legs allowing them to swish around amongst the sand, he hums to himself.
"What were you doing here" Quinn finally asks, the pale boy looks up at her, his face contorts into one of confusion. "I like to come here sometimes, but I'd like to ask you the same, seeming you were asleep on the sand" he chuckles.
"I like the isolation I guess, how everything is quiet but at the same time not. I mean, it can be like that anywhere. But the beach gives a more comforting, serene feel, ya know" she takes a breath, and Luke nods.
"Waking up to the beautiful sun rise, and seeing all those beautiful colours make me feel so happy I guess" she shrugs. Luke completely understood where the girl was coming from, for he's too, spent nights just laying on the sand, admiring the star lit sky and soon the colourful decorations.
"I understand what you mean" they both remained in silence.
"You do" the girl say, breaking it. "Yes" Luke shrugs.
"I've spent nights out here too, it's quite beautiful" the beauties eyes lit up, a smile taking over her resting lips.
"Yeah it really is" she looks up at the sky. Luke remains seated in his spot, staring up the girl above him. Admiring every aspect. How her lips curled into a heart fluttering smile, how her gorgeous brown eyes lit up when she was happy - which he had not seen often-, how her blonde locks curled at the end. She was beautiful.
"You're staring at me." her quiet voice spoke.
"I know" Luke says guiltily, "stop it".
"Why? You're gorgeous Quinn"
