Rosestep's Betrayal

Chapter one

The small cream colored maine coon kit lay at her beloved mothers warm belly, suckling her milk. 'I'll open my eyes soon' she thought to herself as she slowly opened her pale green eyes. At first she was blinded by the bright light creeping through the cracks in the ceiling. She then gazed at her mother, a beautiful pale ginger and grey calico cat. A huge smile spread across her face and she looked at something behind Rosekit. A large brown tabby with piercing blue eyes looked down on her smiling softly. "We have made 2 wonderful daughters." Her father said gazing down at her and something beside her. She looked over to see a smaller brown kit with one blue eye and one green eye. Rosekit smiled and pawed at her sister playfully. A gasp from her parents made her jump and she looked up to see them staring wide eyed at her leg. She turned and saw a backwards twisted leg. "What will Stonestar saw when he sees this?"  Her mother asked her father. A darkness fell over her fathers face and he looked away. "Lets just go throw her in the river and say she got taken by a badger." He said like it was nothing at all. Rosekit backed away terrified. "Starclan no! She is our daughter and she is beautiful just the way she is!" She hissed to her mate. And turned her head sharply away from him. Without a word, her father left the nursery, tail lashing. Her mother, known as Paleflower, touched her nose to her daughters soft head "I wont let anything happen to you my sweet Rosekit, you and your sister are safe as long as your with me. She said and touched her sister head too waking her up. A purr of amusement came from her mothers throat. "Now sleep my beautiful wonderful daughters, for tomorrow is a brand new day just you wait." She smiled and curled her long fluffy tail around them protectively and slept purring softly...
