Walking down the streets of New York, I looked into a Chinese restaurant and my mouth instantly began to drool. I saw chicken fried vegetable rice, egg rolls, wanton soup, and fried chicken wings in the large window, and man, did those crispy wings look delicious. I wanted to buy a whole store of them. But when I checked my jean pockets, I groaned loudly. Nothing. No money. I sadly walked passed the Chinese restaurant, thinking about how much I hated my life.

Then again, I was an orphan with no home and no family.

After walking for a few minutes, I heard something behind me, like footsteps. Unlike most girls, I stayed calm and collected, though I had the feeling someone was following me, I didn't want them to know I was on to them, whoever they were.

The footsteps seemed to get louder and closer every second, but I remained calm. I turned into an alleyway and quickly hunched in front of a car before the stranger turned into the alleyway as well.

"Hey, litta lady, were'd a go?" Said a deep, heavy voice that belonged to the male.

"Shut up ya big blub! That gal probably knows we followin ha now!" Another male shouted to my surprise. His voice sounded a bit higher. There were two men following me? Go figure.

"Well, sure it's to late, boss." Said another male. There was three? To be honest, I wasn't that shocked about the third one, though the second one kind of caught me off guard.

"Come on, litta lady, we won hurt cha!" The one with a deep voice said.

I stayed hunched by the car for maybe another second, staying so still I could hear the men breathing, looking for me. I thought about my options: One, stay hunched by the car and keep playing this stupid game for a few minutes before they found me (it wouldn't take long), or Two, beat them up quickly and smoothly and walk out of here like nothing happened. And really, nothing would have.

I liked option two so much better, so I just hopped out from my hiding spot and looked at the three men. One looked really buff and strong, the other looked really scrawny and weak, while the third one looked somewhere in between the two, but one thing they all had in common, was that they had these huge purple dragon tattoos on there forearms.

Instantly I knew these were the Purple Dragons, one of the group of thugs in NYC. They were feared by many, but didn't scare me in the slightest. In hindsight, they were just people who made wrong choices when they were young.

Their fault.

Anyway, the three of them had this really smug look on their faces. "Ey, litta lady! You decided to come out! Don worry, when we play with ya, we'll play real nice." Said the heavy guy. All the while he said this, his eyes lit up with a dangerous spark that dared to swell.

I glared at the three of them in disgust. "So you guys are perverts to. How disgusting."

The scrawny one, the leader, said, "Yeah, and we gonna play with ya real nice, kay, sweetie? Don worry, we ain't gonna hurt ya."

I just glared at them all. "HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT THE FEMALE RACE IN THAT WAY, YOU DISGUSTING LOW-LIVES!!!!" I yelled loudly.

As soon as I screamed this, I charged at the three with them with incredible speed.

After a few minutes, they were all on the ground, pleading for me to spare them. I walked up to the leader and crouched down next to him. "Oh, really? Cause just a few minutes ago, you were gonna 'play wid me,'" I said, mocking him in a scratchy, high tone.

"I- Im sorry! H- honest!" I smirked and almost laughed at his helplessness. I picked him up by his collar as he made cowardly noises.

"You'd better be." I said. "And if I ever catch you harassing a female again, I'll hunt you all down." Then I lowered his ear to my mouth and whispered, "Every. Single. One of you. Got that?" When I pulled him away from my mouth, he was nodding like crazy, like he had some forever-going spring hooked up to his neck or something. Though I was pretty sure he was lying, I dropped him back against the tar streets.

Standing up, I was about to take my leave, I heard something behind me, like something real heavy falling on the streets, it actually almost made me fall over.

I turned to see what was behind me, and mentally froze for a second, because behind me were four, tall, lean, green things. One had a red bandana around its eyes, another had green, blue, purple, and orange.

"Ey... Dudes... Looks like someone already did the beating up for us!" One of them complained loudly, looking bummed.

The purple one shushed him loudly. "You dummy, don't you know what's in front of us!?" He whisper-yelled, not very quietly though.

"Um... Yes, I guess?" The orange one said, clearly confused I guess.

"It's... It's a girl..." The blue one whispered.

"No, really? I didn't see that." The red one said sarcastically.

After a few seconds, I realized those weird green things were the turtles, the NYC superhero mutants who stopped thugs like the Purple Dragons. Then I realize we've just been staring at each other.

"Took you long enough to get here." Was all I said, kicking one of the knocked-out men on the ground.

"Ugh. Did one of them harm you?" The red one pipped up, Raphael, all of a sudden, hesitantly walking over to me and looking down at me. His green eyes looked deeply into mine. I instantly felt a strange, burning sensation in my chest and on my cheeks and I looked away from him.

"Well, no, but they could have." I crossed my arms and glared at them all. They all seemed to look ashamed, but I noticed Raphael looked the most ashamed. His cheeks suddenly dusted themselves with pink and he looked down, rubbing his three fingers against his neck. "Yeah, sorry bout that, ..." He looked at me again, wanting me to finish the sentence.

"Like I'm gonna give you a name." I scoffed, turning around, making sure my hair flipped in his face for extra extra-ness. I turned back to him to see what the red clad turtle thought now. His eyes were wide, his mouth was shaped like a small 'o', and pink was still dusted on his cheeks. Looking at his face gave me another burning sensation in my heart.

What's happening to me?!

I cleared by throat and turned from them, walking deeper into the alleyway, until I felt a strange ping in the back of my head, before I began to fall forward as my vision seared black.
