CHAPTER 2
Audrey's POV
15 minutes before they get here and I'm still not ready. I have tried on almost ten different outfits before deciding on a white tank top and a red pencil skirt. I want to make a good impression on these people. Just as I'm finishing my make-up, I hear the doorbell ring. Just in time.
"Audrey, come great our guests!" My dad calls.
"Coming!" I respond and I rush down the stairs. The moment my feet hit the floor I look up and notice the girl staring at me. I must say, she's quite pretty. Her brown hair falls shortly below her shoulders and her brown look at me kindly. We both take in each other's appearance. She too is wearing a pencil skirt but it's green, and a gray tank top. Before I know it, she sticks her hand out and says, "Hey my name is Courtney, but you can call me Court. Everyone else does anyway."
I shake her hand and respond, "Okay cool. My name is Audrey but my friends call me Aud." She smiles at me as i do her and we both burst into laugher for no reason. I automatically like this girl.
The adults look at us suspiciously before her parents introduce themselves as Mr. and Mrs. Williams.
"Dinner will be ready in about 20 minutes, if you girls want to hang out in your rooms, you can," My dad says as he looks at me.
"Okay," I say as I turn to walk up the stairs. A few steps up I realize Court isn't following me, she's just standing awkwardly at the bottom of the stairs. "Come on," I encourage her. She starts up the stairs behind me without a word.
When we reach my bedroom, I walk in but she just stands in the door. I sit on the bed and say, "Come on in. This is my bedroom."
"Okay," She says nervously. I thought we already broke the ice? I guess not.
I pat the space in front of my on my bed, welcoming her to sit down too. She looks around once for before taking a seat on the bed.
"So, my dad said you guys just moved here," She states
"Yeah we just moved in not too long ago," I reply.
"You'll really love it here. It doesn't seem like much now, but once you get to school, you'll never be bored. Do you want to know why?" She asks enthusiastically and I nod. I'm slightly curious.
"Okay, so there are a lot of different school activities and sports and almost everyone does something, that is except for the bad kids but I'll tell you about them later." She seems very interested to be telling me all this but I'm very confused. What does she mean by bad kids? We didn't have any bad kids at me old school. "So anyway, do you play any sports?"
"Yeah, I play field hockey. I have since I can remember."
"I should have guessed considering you have a hockey stick above your bed." She points to my lucky stick and continues, "You should really go out for the team this season. Our players are really good and all the guys check out the hockey and soccer players" She winks. "I play soccer and we do a bunch of workouts and runs with the hockey girls. It's super fun. Oh, but you should stay away from the footballs boys, they only date cheerleaders." She must have notices my confused look because she said, "I know, it's messed up but in my opinion the football guys aren't even that hot and the cheerleaders a just annoying. Both groups are terrible at their sport. It's really pathetic. We're mostly known for our soccer and hockey teams anyway so I hope you're good if you want to make it."
I honestly have no idea what to think about this girl. First she was friendly, then shy, now she won't stop talking. I don't mind much though, I already feel like we're friends.
