Ar'mariah

It was a hot sticky day in Chicago as I walked home from the bus stop.

Summer was right around the corner, and I thanked GOD I didn't have to get up so early and walk to the Bus stop and back home everyday, these few weeks would be my last time doing this anyway since I was about to graduate in three weeks.

Me and my Friends already had plans for them to come to Chi-town and hang out with me.

I had a few friends that I met on an app called wattpad. I didn't really have that many friends in reality only two, cause all the girls around here was in gangs, had babies and grew up too fast.

We all were amazing writers and end up reading each other's books and BOOM we clicked from there on.

We had been friends well over a year now and we were all finally meeting in person in July.

It was one a bit older than all of us, her name was Tanya, She was 23, but We didn't mind, she was like the mother of the group and gave the best advice, we ran to her for anything and We could be our crazy selves around her.

"Alright Mimi, I'll see you tomorrow" My Friend Alezae smiled and waved turning down her street.

I returned the gesture and smiled. "Okay Dahling, see ya!"

She was the only good friend I had left.

Just like Alezae, Kamryn had been my Best friend since diapers but sadly she got killed two years ago. She got caught in the middle of a Drive By walking home from school on 79th and Essex.. Where we grew up.

Even though I live in the upscale part of Chicago now, Every since then I've been a little creeped out about walking home from school.

These niggas is so reckless around here, they don't even care who's around when they shoot, when they see their Target they get to bussin no matter who around, old people, babies and all.

If my Mom gets off early enough, she comes and pick me up from school and if I catch her early enough in the morning, I'll catch a ride .

I wiped beads of sweat from my Forehead as I finally reached my neighborhood. I let out a sigh of relief.

These few weeks of school needed to hurry up and happen.

I glanced up at the house next door to mine to see a group of Guys standing at a car laughing and talking loudly. It was some of NL.

But one voice stood out the most.. It was heavy and a bit raspy and I knew that it was none other than who I thought it was. The excitement made My heart start racing.

I hadn't expected him to be home so soon, last time I talked to him a few days ago, he told me he wouldn't be home till the end of the month around my birthday but here he is.. Two weeks before then.

I wasn't complaining, whenever I got the chance to see my best friend was such a Blessing to me because it's very rare now.

As I quickly stepped up to the curve and practically sprinted towards him, he turned around and noticed me.

His eyes glowed and A smile spread across his chubby face so quickly as he held his arms out. The excitement from my face was about the same as his, maybe even a little more if that was even possible how happy he looked.
