"Fletch-ling!"
"Oowwwwwwaaaa!!!!!!!" I screamed as my mom's Fletchling pecked me hard on the nose. "Fletchling! For the millionth time; don't wake me up like that!" I jumped and tried to grab Fletchling, but missed.
"Serena, are you up yet? We have to hurry or we'll miss the taxi!" My mom shouted from downstairs. I groaned and fell back on my bed. Why did this day have to come so soon. Back in 9th grade, it seemed like time would never pass by quick enough; and now, I'm in the 10th grade getting ready to leave my home. We were moving to Anistar City so my mom could work at her new job opportunity there, but, unfortunately for me, I couldn't attend Vaniville High School from there. So, I would be transferring to a new school.
As I lay in bed thinking, Fletchling jumped back on me getting ready to unleash another peck. "Fletch-"
"Ok, ok I'm getting up!" I said quickly cutting off Fletchling to avoid getting hit again.

After showering and getting breakfast, I got dressed in my everyday cloths. I wore a grey short-sleeved shirt tucked under a red skirt. I wore long black leggings and black sneakers with a half pink PokéBall design on it. Then I did my hair; leaving two strands of it off to the sides of my face, while I tied the rest of my hair into a really low ponytail with a hairband. And, last but not least, my pink felt hat with a black bow that went all the way around it.
Soon after the taxi arrived, my mom and I loaded it with our suitcases while everything else was loaded up in the moving trucks by Machoke. The back seat was a little crowded from the extra luggage. We started to drive. I looked behind and watched as my old home in Vaniville slowly fade from sight. I put in my earplugs and lay back listening to the music. I knew it would be a while before we arrived, so in the meantime I was going to catch up on the sleep I missed this morning.

I must have been out for a while because when I woke up we were pulling into a neighborhood that I only recognized from pictures my mom had shown me in the past. We're here. It was much more beautiful in the city than I thought. Tall trees loomed above us as we drove by; each with a somewhat different color from the cold of fall. I saw Pidgey fly overhead from branch to branch, much like how they did back in Vaniville Town.
"Oh good your awake!" My mom said turning to look at me, "We're almost there Serena." I gave her the best fake smile I could manage. Truly I hated leaving home.
We pulled up to the house few minuets later. The cold wind hit me hard as we unloaded our luggage from the taxi. My mom payed the driver and grabbed the keys to the house. I looked up at my new home. It didn't look quite as welcoming as my old one, but it did seem bigger. My mom came up and unlocked the door for the both of us to get in. It was a little dark inside, but my eyes soon adjusted to the lighting. I was right it was a little bigger. There was a kitchen to my left and a rather large living room to my right. There was a staircase that led to an upstairs hall way with two rooms. One a bedroom that would be mine and the other my mother's. They each had their own bathroom.
"Pretty cool, huh?" My mom said walking with me to my room. I nodded eyeing the closet, much bigger than my previous one. Wonder how many new outfits I could fit in there? I thought to myself. Maybe living here wouldn't be all that bad. I just needed to get use to things. The main thing that bothered me was the temperature, it was freezing here compared to Vaniville. I shivered. "Cold?" My mom asked. I nodded again. "I'm going to start working on cleaning downstairs before the Machamp Moving company gets here with the rest of our luggage. Why don't you go get some warmer cloths on and go see our new neighbors!" She said delighted.
"Y-you don't need any help?" I asked looking back at her.
She shrugged, "Normally I would ask, but I think that it would be better if you went out and made some new friends. I here that one of our neighbors is a kid your age. Who knows, maybe you two will get along." I stood back and blinked at her. "Unless of course you would rather clean your room?" She asked raising an eyebrow at me mockingly.
"You know what, I think I will go out!" I said before she made me do more chores. Mom smiled at me and nodded.
"Keep your phone with you. I'll call you when our stuff gets here." She said and left.

I sighed as I left the house. Will I ever get used to this weather? I thought feeling a cold breeze that ran chills up my spine. Even with my pink jacket on, I could still feel goose bumps starting to form on my arms. Maybe, hopefully things will get better. I let my partner Finnekin out of its PokéBall, and walked down towards my new neighbor's house. At least with Finnekin here, I will always have a friend by my side, and nothing was ever going to change that.
"Finn!" Finnekin leaped happily into my arms.
"I'm glad I still have you Finnekin." I said giving her a big hug, and a warm smile.

Yay my first chapter is finally completed! I have been so psyched to write this story! I've always been an amour shipper and it's so much fun to finally be creating my own fan fiction of it! (Sorry it's so short!)
By the way. Swag_Assassin isn't writing this story. I'm her BFF and unfortunately I couldn't get my wattpad account to work, so Swag is letting me write my story on her account at least until I can get mine figured out (unfortunately it doesn't look like that's ever going to happen. I hate it when I can't figure out technology!). Just letting you know. Hope you still enjoy the story.
How will Serena handle things after moving to such an unfamiliar place? Who is Serena's new neighbor? And, will they get along? Will Serena ever make any friends? Ok I realize this isn't much of a cliffhanger yet, but hey, you still never know what could happen, right? Can't wait to write more! ;P
