Jess looked around for something and if someone was watching her she looked back at the mirror and kept on repeating the lines
“I am not a killer…I am a human…I am not useless…”
As her black angelic wings unfolded from her back and wrapped around her , as she cried her wings wrapped around her tighter. There was a knock at the bathroom door
“Jess you okay? You have been in there for a while.”
“Yeah I’m fine… just…taking a breather.”
“okay well hurry up the boys are getting worried.”
“okay tell them sorry and I will be out in a minute.”
Jess looked in the mirror one last time for a minute but in her head she felt like if it had been for hours. Her wings unwrapped from around her and folded back into her hoodie. She cleaned up the red streaks that had been stained from the sorrow within. Jess then walked out with a smile and walked into the living room. Smiling, she then looked at her friend and said
“Violet you are an asshole for not telling me that there are two cute boys in your living room.”
The boys smiled and looked away blushing. Violet said,
“Well you know my curly haired dork boyfriend, Jason, and this is Ace Rose.”
Jess looked at Ace and admired his black hair gray eyes perfection. Ace stood up and looked at Jess and said,
“Wow I have never seen a more beautiful angel like you before in my life.”
His smooth light French accent flattered Jess and turned her red, Jess blushed even more when he kissed her cheek, Jess got her emotions under control and said to Ace
“Angel?”
“Yes because only angels are this beautiful and its an expression.”
Jess blushed even more, Violet then said,
“Well I can see you to are getting along quite well. You’re welcome Jess, I know your new here and so I thought I should get you a boyfriend and Ace moved in right across the street not long after you moved in at your apartment. So you're welcome.”
Jess shushed violet and Ace and Jess made eye contact and stood there motionless. It seemed as if it was forever, as if the world stopped and stayed there motionless for just them. Violet interrupt their moment with a bitchy remark,
“So Jess you going to start breathing again or are you going to drool over him more?”
Jess looked at violet and hit her in the shoulder
“Oh shut up I remember when you first met Jason you were talking about him for weeks before you two were even dating, hell I remember walking in your bedroom and I saw you m…”
Violet blushed and yelled at Jess pissed off an embarrassed
“JESS SHUT THE HELL UP AND GO…GO MAKE OUT WITH ACE OR SOMETHING JUST SHUT UP!”
“Whatever V I’mma go for a smoke I’ll be right back.”
Jess walked through the hallway and went out the back balcony and pulled out her cigarettes, grabbing one and pressing it between her lips. Ace walked up behind her pulled out his zippo.
“May I light your cig for you?”
Jess blushed at the sound of his voice and replied trying to not stutter,
“Ughh…yeah sure.”
Ace walked to Jess lighter her cigarette, Ace pulled out a cig to light his right after hers
“So why does an angel like you smoke? It doesn’t bother me I prefer a woman that smokes.”
Jess looked at Ace and replied
“Honestly I don’t know I just started and I haven’t stopped sense it helped me make it through high school though, that’s for damn sure.”
“ Aw I see…you look so beautiful I love your white hair. How often do people call you beautiful?
Jess smiled looking at Ace
“Honestly never I don’t really talk to people other than V. You’re to sweet Ace…”
Ace walked up to Jess, putting his half smoked cigarette on the side of his black steal toe boot, wrapping his arms around Jess’s waist pulling her close to him. She tried to push Ace away placing her hand on Ace’s hand but she grabbed his hand holding his, then leaned into him smiling. She didn’t know why she didn’t stop him but she knew she felt something that she couldn’t describe it.
“Ace…will you go out with me?”
Jess turned her body so their chests were facing each other, with Jess looking at the ground blushing , making a cherry look albino. Ace smiled, then replied.
“Jessica it will be my pleasure.”
Jess was wide eyed, she hadn’t heard someone call her Jessica sense she moved out from her house. She looked at Ace smiling placing her head on his chest, she looked up at him, saying,
“Ace…I have a few things I need to ask you”
“What is it Jess?”
Part two: Questions and acceptance
“One, do you mind me calling nicknames? Like, babe, baby, baby boy, stuff like that?”
“I wouldn’t mind at all.”
“Two, will you let me pay for stuff? Like dates, lunch, and gifts.”
Ace looked at Jess and smiled and said
“I really don’t want you to, but only if you want too.”
“Three when is your birthday?”
“November 14th.”
“Okay that’s all I have to ask for now.”
Jess kisses Aces on the cheek , Ace smiled and looked at Jess and asked,
“Jess I have one question. Do you believe in god?”
Jess stood there in Ace’s arms, motionless, her memories of God rushed into her head, like people getting on a train in New York. She remembered all of the horrible things that had happened, the blood, the regret, the lies, everything. She look at Ace and said,
“Not anymore, she was never there in my darkest hours.”
“Oh, well you don’t need god anymore, you have me now, I hope.”
Jess smiled his smooth French accent made her blush a little, then nuzzled her face in his chest, saying.
“yeah I do have you don’t I?”
“Yeah you do have me Jess.”
Jess moved away from Ace, looking at the ground.
“I should get going, it’s getting late.”
Ace stopped his smiling then grew a face of depression, then smiled again
“Well I can take you home, I have a car.”
Jess didn’t know how to answer, she didn’t really know Ace, but she thought about it.
“Yeah that would be cool.”
Ace smiled and went back inside to grab his keys of the table, saying bye to Violet and her boyfriend. Jess was following behind him. Violet grabbed Jess by the arm, taking her into her bedroom.
“What the hell V?”
“Are you and Ace going to…you know…have sex already?”
Jess blush and got wide eyed
“Oh god no! He is just taking me home.”
“Good because I will kick both of your asses like I did when I caught you kissing your last ‘boyfriend’.”
“Oh calm your tits V I’m fine hell I’m 19 I’m a grown adult now so shut up.”
Jess gave Violet a hug and left. She got outside to see Ace sitting against the car holding his stomach . Trying not to make a sound he looked up at Jess and moved his lips trying to say,
“Help me.”
But the words couldn’t come out, Jess ran out to Ace. Getting stopped and dragged down to the ground, a voice came out of no where.
“It’s been awhile Jess, the soldier of the Fallen rebellion.”
Jess knew that voice, she dreaded the day to hear it again, a man wearing a black and red cloak, with white and gold angel wings. He grabbed Jess by the throat lifting her from the ground.
“oh how have I missed you Jess.”
Ace backed up farther into the car freaking out, thinking Jess was going to die and him soon after. Jess’s wings shot out of her back throwing the man backwards, the man yelled, getting back up on his feet. Jess ran towards the man hitting him in the stomach, knocking him back to the ground. Jess grabbed the man by the throat lifting him up,
“What do you want Greed? Why are you here?”
Jess almost busted into tears screaming at Greed. Ace started getting up using his car for support. Greed started to smile, he replied to Jess.
“Well Wrath I’m here to kill you, God herself had sent me. She fears you.”
Jess stopped holding him by the throat and got off of him, sitting on the ground. Ace almost got into his car but saw Jess sitting on the and Greed laughing as he stood up. Greed said,
“Oh Wrath how so I’m going to miss you. Along with the other sins.”
Ace, hiding behind his car, thinking to himself if you he should do something or not. Greed grabbed his naginata, twirling it above his head about to kill Jess. Ace, still hiding behind his car, thinking about what he should do, he started to look around to find something to throw. As Ace was looking around he found a rock and threw it at Greed. Ace barely threw the rock in time hitting Greed’s naginata, stabbing Jess in the shoulder. Jess clinched her teeth together trying not to scream. Greed flew over to Ace throwing the car to the other side of the street , seeming without a struggle. Ace fell backwards crawling back as Greed started twirling his naginata around his arms and head. Jess drew a sign on the ground With her foot out of her own blood that had hit the ground. Jess placed the palm of her hand in the center of the sign pulling out a scythe. Jess charged at Greed hitting him in the lower back with the black steal shaft of the scythe, launching him 4 feet in the ground.
“Greed get your ass back up here, I know that didn’t hurt you, you immortal fuck.”
Greed launched out at the hole into the air throwing his naginata at Jess. Greed in hitting the ground rolling grabbing his naginata. The two sins clashed there weapons, the steal and iron clashing together making sparks flying everywhere. They both launched back, then charging at each other charging there weapons. Ace sat there watching as Jess and Greed clashed their weapons, so fast that he saw them clash before the sound came. Jess finally got fed up with Greed cutting him in half diagonally. One part of Greed’s body dropped and the other on flew back. Greed’s body covered itself in gold then melting away. Jess looked at Ace as Ace tremble in his boots, Jess smiled with the blood dripping down her face and arms. Jess said,
“I know…we need to talk.”
Part Three: Blood N’ Guts, Boobs N’ Butts
Jess took a step towards Ace and fell forward from the lack of blood. Ace ran over to Jess sliding on his knees tearing his jeans. Ace began to freak out as Jesse eyes began to close her eyes. Ace grabbed his phone and called 911,
“911 what’s your emergence?”
“ My name is Ace Rose and I’m on 236 Huffer lane, and my girlfriend and I just got jumped by a man, we need and ambulance as fast as you can send one she was stabbed in the shoulder and she has cuts all over her, she is also bleeding from her head.”
“Okay sir they are on there way please remain calm, does she have a pulse?”
Ace checked for a pulse in Jess’s neck
“ Yes, but it’s very faint.”
“Okay, how long ago did this happen?”
“Roughly about 10minutes ago.”
In the distance an ambulance turned around the street corner.
“okay sir.”
“They are here thank you so much.”
“No problem sir, everything will be fine .”
“…I know.”
Part four: Battling In The Past
The ambulance came following, behind them were police and firetrucks. The ambulance stopped and two men came out and checked Jess’s pulse and vitals. Violet and Jason came running outside hearing the sirens and seeing the lights. Violet ran to Jess screaming her name.
