Beep, beep, beeep! There goes the signal. As I stretched out, finished the required amount of learning time on my LEARNERBOARD. (A LEARNERBOARD is basically a personal tutoring device that teaches the owner lessons on math, literature, science, and other things that I need to learn.) Instead of staying longer for games or extra learning, I headed home early as my father had requested that morning over breakfast.
I load up my electric blue and black bottomless bag, and head out the door of my private learning room. I walk past the teleportpads and out the doors. No one seems to understand why I don't use them, but my reason is that my mother always believed that it was important to exercise and enjoy the little nature left on this polluted Earth we call home.
Despite the fact no one ever uses the roads anymore, I look both ways and begin to cross the road. I tap my bracelet to pull up my screen, bringing up the music app and shuffled my favorite playlists. The first song to come up is for sure considered an "oldie" by now. "Keep Your American Dream" by the long forgotten band called Beartooth, I tilt my head back and looked towards the sky, humming along. In less than a minute I begin to match my footsteps to the beat and bang my head. I laugh as I picture anybody's face if they saw the sight of me doing so. Soon a new song comes on, "I Miss You" by Blink 182 will always and forever be a classic no matter what anyone else thinks.
As the chorus starts, I suddenly feel a strong force hit me from the back. My body flings forward, tossed on the uneven concrete like a rag doll thrown across the room. I feel a thick, warm, and sticky liquid pool around me as black starts to take over the world.
Hey!
