Finding Emo

Chapter One:

"Hey, Look what we have here," Logan walks faster down the road as he hears Brian and the rest of his snotty friends approach.
"Where are you going? Don't you want to talk with us?" Brian laughs. He grabs Logan by his hood and pulls him backwards.
"Let me go," Logan mumbles.
"Ha. No chance emo boy." Brian exclaims as he pushed Logan to the ground. Emily, Brian's  girlfriend walks up and grabs a fistful of Logan's hair, pulling his head up. He grimaces in pain and grinds his teeth.
"Why won't you fight back?" Emily pouts.
"It's no fun if you don't try." Logan winces as she pulls his head back.
"I don't fight girls," he replied.
Brian laughs.
"You heard the lady. Fight back." He swung his fist and the taste of iron fills Logan's mouth. He stands up shakily, grabbing his backpack off of the ground.
"Oh, we are NOT done with you," Brian says, taking a step forward. One of his friends appears beside him and pushes Logan forward, landing face first in a puddle.
Just then, Jay Makish walks up.
"Hey guys. Sorry I'm late," he pauses, looking at Logan. Logan looks right back at him, lips parted, brown eyes wide.
"What are you guys doing? Leave the poor boy alone." Jay orders as he sticks his hand out to help Logan up. "I-I'm okay," Logan says, accepting the hand and standing up. His sleeve falls back, revealing the scars and fresh, still bleeding cuts. Jay stares at Logan's bleeding arm for a second, suprise written across his face. Logan quickly pulls the sleeve back down, his face beet red. Jay looks at him with concern, like he was going to say something, but Juju, one of Emily's friends, put herself in between the two, forcing him to release Logan's hand.
"Well now that you are here," Juju says, running her finger down Jay's chest.
"We can have some fun."
"Um, I'm gonna go..." Logan mumbles. "Wait!" Jay calls out, but Logan had already run down the street and turned the corner. "See you at school." Jay wispers as his friends start to drag him towards the school building.
