Good day to all. For your information, I involved in a big accident this morning. There was two truck collided in front of me and I wanted to avoid it, it didn’t come to my notification there’s a tree in front of me. I didn’t manage to evade the tree so I was dead.
This morning I had a big fight with my boyfriend. It was because I saw him going out of the hospital with another woman. I was so pissed off when he asked me to stop asking question and get out of his apartment. So I guess that’s the end of our relationship.
My name was Song Ji Eun. I was 26 years old and was supposed to be engaged to No Min Woo; my boyfriend next week.
“Okay girl. Stop narrating your own story” a voice came from my back.
I turned around and saw a familiar looking man holding a pen and paper. He had a curly brown hair and black eyes. He was skinny, tall and kind of white, so purely white. Like a vampire in Twilight saga. And on top of that, he’s handsome.
“I’m white but I’m not Edward Cullen. Don’t fall for me even I’m handsome” he said. How in hell does he know what I’m thinking? Is he a mind reader?
“Not even close” he said. I frowned. Why don’t you just tell me?
He came forward and hit my head.
“Never know you had a slow brain. Let’s work this out. You’re dead right? So who are you supposed to meet after that?” he lined out the draft for me.
It still doesn’t ring a bell.
“Yaaah… I’m the scheduler. You was an accountant, you can’t even sort that out?” he complained.
“Sorry but I think I hit my head during the accident” I answered. He might think I’m rude.
“Yes you are very rude” he assured his ability to hear my thoughts.
“Song Ji Eun, why are you not crying like the other people that died?” he asked me.
“It’s because I had nothing to lose if I die. I broke up with my boyfriend and I have no family, at all” I firmly answer.
“Well you’re not the first to die after break up” he said.
Did he break up before he died? My thoughts are uncontrollable. He looked at me and raised his eyebrow.
“That’s a thoughtless thinking you have” he said.
“Sorry, it’s out of my control” I said.
“I was asked by the superior to offer you a chance to live again. What say you?” he said.
Another chance to see the only person I love to walk the aisle with another woman, hell no.
“Why don’t you consider your thought? Let’s go visit Min Woo” he said.
“Wait Scheduler, I’m not sure I’m ready to watch him with other woman” I confirmed my stand.
“Just follow me” he commanded and he pulled my collar.
We walked through a portal and reach Min Woo’s apartment.
He was standing in front of the 10 feet window.
“Why did you have to go? It’s too early” I heard his monologue.
I approached him and stand beside him. He was holding my picture. His eyes were red.
“I love you so much. Why did you query me? Why don’t you trust me? How could I tell you about my ailment? Ji Eun, I had a brain cancer? That’s what you want?” he murmured. I was terrified by the fact. “Now, you left me alone. Are you happy?” he added.
I retreated from my prior position. I collapsed on the floor. From afar I could see the scheduler was staring at me.
“Why?” I quoted. “Why? Why don’t I get that illness? Give me that illness. Let him live! Please! Don’t let him die, please” I begged to the scheduler. He held my shoulder and look in to my eyes with emotionless eyes.
“Are you sure this is what you want?” he questioned me.
“I had made a promise with Min Woo that I’ll never let him die without feeling happiness. So I want to give him the opportunity to find another woman to give her love to Min Woo” I said, slowly.
“Why would you give up the chance to live to him even after you already break up?” he asked me.
It is because I love him with all of my heart, that guy. The scheduler nodded and walked away.
“I give you ten minutes to appear in front of him” he said and he diffused into the air.
I looked at the clock on the floor and when it stroke 0000 hour I was visible in front of the mirror.
“Min Woo” I whispered and he turned around. His eyes rounded.
“Ji Eun is that you?” he asked. I grabbed his hand and hugged him.
“I know you’ll be mystified by this situation but I only have nine minutes left” I said.
“I love you so much Min Woo. I’m sorry I didn’t trust you. I know you are not healthy. But you’ll live longer, trust me” I said and kissed his forehead.
“Live happily. Find someone that will love you like I do” I added. He was trying to say something but I kissed him.
“You are the best thing that I had ever had. I will always remember you even if it’s not necessary” I quoted.
“But why?” he asked.
“I had no time to explain. But do you remember my promise that I’ll do anything just to let you experience love? This is me keeping my promise” I said.
“Live longer? I don’t want it without you. Ji Eun there’s no happiness without you. I can never live without you” he was crying.
“You will live without me, you must. Do you hear me? Promise me Min Woo… Promise me” I demanded.
I crossed my finger against his.
“I’m running out of time” I looked at the clock.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“Forget me Min Woo. Find another person to love you. Live on” I said and wiped his tears.
“No… please don’t leave me. I begged you” he pleaded.
“I have a wish before I go” I said, ignoring his words.
“Kiss me” I added.
“Don’t leave” he still crying, grapping my shoulder. But still he kissed me.
After a while, I can’t feel his touch anymore. I knew the time was up.
“Good job, Song Ji Eun” the scheduler appeared and takes me through the same portal.
“Don’t worry. He will live a long life after this. Cheer up” he said.
I looked at Min Woo for the last time and I slowly vanished into the thin air.
