Athena rose early morning in expectation and excitement for the trip. The sun shone brightly through the bedroom window into her bed bidding her good morning. She made her way to the bathroom and meticulously brushed her teeth making sure to get all the nooks and crannies satisfied she started on her curly hair. Her 6:30 alarm went off signaling to head downstairs for breakfasts. Ever since she could remember she had always loved going to the dentist for checkups and for her reward, her favorite chile-limon lollipop, of course hearing the doctor's praise and compliment always a bonus. Her natural curls framed her plum and luscious lips. With eyes sweet as honey and Frida Khalo eyebrows her face was nothing but extraordinary. Had her mom not married her dad she wondered how life would have turned out for her. Her mom talked about her dad a lot and sometimes would point out how her daughter resembles her husband like two water drops."Morning, Mom!" She cheerily said as she reached out for the refrigerator door."Hey, baby! You excited for today?" Her mom asked as she moved the eggs from the skillet to her plate." Yeah. Ummh Mom, Can I take your Canon EOS Rebel?""I don't know, won't Mrs. W be taking her camera""C'm on, mom! I'll take care of it, pretty please?"Fine, finish up your potatoes and eggs we should get going I've got so much to do this morning" She said as she hurried to her room for her coat, picked up her suitcase and headed to the car.

Athena s friend Marcy was already waiting with her suitcase as they pulled over. Marcy was small in stature and curvy in shape. She always kept her long black hair on a ponytail. No matter what the circumstances she was always optimistic. She smiles and greets everyone wherever she goes. The only downside is that she trusts too much and is too naive for her own good. She had lived in California for most of her childhood up until she was in the fifth grade her parents decided to move to Washington when her dad got a job relocation. Now that her dad was so busy with having to start all over again she rarely had the chance to see him. She always thought him to be a reliable Dad. As for her mother, she had died from drug overdose. Marcy never talked about that part of her past. Athena knew it pained her just from any comment about her mom. She had trained herself to brush it off, but only her closest friends knew of her pain.
