It was snowing, making the surroundings hard to see. The next thing I know, a strong arm wrapped around my waist, and a dirty hand covered my mouth. The man dragged me into the Wolfswood, I was kicking and screaming, but the screams weren't heard. I heard two other men laughing, which terrified me more. The first man threw me to the ground, and the other two held my hands and feet, which gave me a moment to scream. The man whipped out a dagger and put it to my throat, I then realized these men were deserters. I stopped screaming almost immediately. "Aye, she's a pretty one," the man holding my arms said.
"Of course she is, Willel. Try looking up her skirts," both men chuckled, and I tried to squeeze my legs together, but the man restrained them.
"Not so fast darling. Ray, make sure to keep them open."
"I am NOT your darling, pig," I said, fighting back.
"Wrong choice," was all he said. He gave a look to Ray, which led to him pulling up my dress to the top of my thighs. I let out a shriek. "Listen here, girl, this is a warning. Next time you make a noise, I will do worse." 'Pig' then took the dagger and dragged it down my leg lightly, only busting the skin. It wasn't too bad until he went for round two. He went over the same line, but deeper. I let out a shriek, but then it was muffled by a rag from Willel. "What happened to no noise?" Pig said menacingly. He grabbed my foot, then twisted it so hard and fast, I almost fainted from the pain. He passed the dagger around, letting the men write anything into my flesh on the untouched leg. When the men were done passing around the dagger, Pig started to put it away and stand up. I thought it was over, but that hope vanished as soon as I saw him undoing his breeches. I closed my eyes, praying to the Old Gods, then opened my eyes. He was at my entrance, ready to go until a sword was protruding from his chest. I exhaled a breath I didn't know I was holding. Willel and Ray got up and tried to run, but were shot down by arrows. I tried to see who my savior was, but black dots were invading my vision. All of the pain came in a huge wave, and I started to cry. Somebody started to yell orders, but they were distant and muffled by the pounding in my ears. The rag was taken from my mouth. Strong arms lifted me into the air. A fourth deserter came up from behind a bush and threw a knife, trying to hit my carrier, but missed. The flying knife hit my side, a scream of agony filled the air. The deserter was killed. I was thinking about letting the darkness take me, even though I didn't know if it was unconsciousness or death.
A calm and soothing voice spoke, "Stay with me, please. Come on, just please survive." I opened my eyes a crack, and saw a blurry face, filled with worry and concentration. He gently handed me to someone and got on his horse. I was handed back to him and a small grunt of discomfort left my lips. "Sorry," the man whispered and started to head off with his companion.
"Thank you," I squeezed out, then fell into the darkness. I could still hear things and voices.
The man carrying me said, "Damn it."
"Robb, she's only passed out, she might live," another voice said. I felt the speed of the horse pick up, and the sound of a village filled with people come closer and closer.
"OPEN THE GATE!" an unfamiliar voice yelled, followed by the rattling of a gate. The horse went on, there was a murmur in the crowd.
"What's going on?" a voice asked with concern laced into his voice.
Robb ignored him, "GET THE MAESTER!"
"Hand her here, my boy." I was handed over to the new voice, gently but I still grunted. He started to walk. I opened my eyes, clearer than before, and saw what I presumed to be the honorable Lord Eddard Stark. He looked down and saw that my eyes were open. He smiled, "It's going to be alright. What is your name?"
I mustered out, "Evalyn." I started to cough uncontrollably, blood coming from my mouth. The Warden of the North started to walk faster until he opened a door to a room with an old man standing there.
"Lay her down," the old man said.
"Save her, Maester Luwin," with that, the lord left the room.
"Please drink this, My Lady, it's milk of the poppy." He put a small bowl to my lips. I obliged, sipping the liquid, and fell into darkness moments later.
