Who is the boy w/ the white v-neck and jeans? What does he want w/ Katrina? Let's find out!

Chapter 2: The Angel

The boy stood in the kitchen with a proud stance, like a soldier waiting to receive orders. He didn't flinch when Katrina screamed, or when she grabbed a knife and swung it around like a maniac in front of him. "Who are you and what are you doing in my house?!" she yelled, a hint of fear in her voice.

"Please, I don't mean you any harm just calm down," he replied cooly, slowly walking towards her. "Get away from me!" she yelled, swinging the knife towards the boy. He looked no older than her but took the personality as a mature adult. "What do you want?" she asked, voice tremoring slightly. "To talk. That's why I'm here, Katrina." "How do you know my name?" She asked, lowering the knife a bit.

"My name is Bruno. I am an angel of the North, and I was assigned to you as your guardian. You are the Imorta and you have been prophesied to save our world from a great peril." She looked at him in disbelief, then she slowly laughed. He stared at her quizzically for a while and grew impatient with her after a while of non-stop hacking. "What's so funny?" he questioned.

"Angels? Prophecy? This sounds like something from a book, doesn't it? Who put you up to this, was it Michael? Very funny, just tell your buddy you had a great laugh and just run along." She started to lead him out the door but he turned around and grabbed her wrists, the knife dropped from her hand.

"Hey! What are you-" "Do you think this is a game? This is not a joke, Katrina!" he yelled at her. "Ok, I get it, it's not a joke but can you please get out of my house!"

"Our world will soon face a grave fate by the hands of The Ripper! It's up to you to help and save us. You are the Imorta and the only one who can save us, please you must come with me immediately!"

She was astonished, but more than that infuriated. This kid is crazy talking about rippers or something now! "I'm going to call the cops if you don't leave right now, you weirdo!" She ran to the phone and dialed the numbers. "How are you going to call anyone if you don't have any power?" He asked mischievously.

Then the power went out. All the lights suddenly switched off and the phone was dead. She pushed the buttons hard with all her might but it wouldn't turn on, soon she raced outside to see if anything was wrong with the fuse box but all the switches were on. "What the..."

She went back inside and met up with the boy again. "How did you do that? Turn the power back on!" she demanded. "I told you, I need you to come with me." "You think just by cutting the power out you could convince me to come with you? You need to make a bigger effort than that!" she challenged.

He pondered for a moment, then turned the power back on with the snap of his fingers, she jumped up a bit at the quick flash of light that reappeared in the kitchen. "You want proof? Fine, I'll give you proof," he then went to a lamp near the living room and put his hand over the bulb. She watched him carefully, wondering what he was going to do.

He put his hand over the bulb and gently lifted his hand out, turning his wrist over to reveal a light in the palm of his hand and brought it towards her to get a better look at it. She backed up a bit, afraid that maybe it would jump off and burn her. "Relax, it won't burn you," he mumbled, and wriggled his fingers around the little bulb of light on his palm.

He moved the light around his hand and it rolled around like a small ball. He bounced it gently up and down then pushed it back in the bulb as if he never touched it in the first place. "How did you do that?" she asked, staring intently at the bulb that had been placed back in the lamp. "As an angel, I can control light sources from anything that can glow. It's also one of the many abilities I have as a guardian." She looked at him raising an eye and looked back at the bulb. The lamp was never on, let alone the bulb needed to be replaced. Wierd, she thought.

"You have proof, now will you come?" he asked impatiently. "How do I know I can trust you? What's to say something horrible will happen along the way if for some crazy reason I decide to help you save your world or whatever?" Although she didn't want to admit to him or even herself, she did trust him. She thought the whole idea of her having supernatural powers was absurd and there being another world was downright crazy, but deep down, she wanted to know if it was all true.

"There will be lots of danger ahead of us, but I give you my word that as your guardian I will never let anything happen to you," he raised his hand up in an oath. "Promise me that I won't die if anything happens," she asked stupidly. "That, I can't. But safe is something you will be as long as I am your guardian," he promised. She nodded her head and slowly stepped forward to him.

"So, where do we go?" she asked. "You'll see." He stood back and stretchd one arm up above his head and with his hand, sliced an imaginary line down and a portal opened, making a whooshing sound. She stood in front of the dark portal in front of her, without thinking, she threw a spoon in there and it got sucked in.

"Where did it go?" she asked, trying to look inside the dark hole. "Not sure, I wasn't thinking of a destination at the moment. Ladies first," he insisted. She gave him an annoyed look but nonetheless cautiously took a step forward but was soon pushed in and she was sucked into the darkness.
