Harry picks up the used dishes and glasses that the last customers used putting them in the tray along with dirty dishes from other tables. He then took the damp rag wiping off the table before taking a dry cloth to dry off the table as he sat silverware on the table as he sighed wiping off his forehead with his free hand. He had been working ever since he got from university which was at 3 pm and now it was about 12 pm. He decided to take a break at the bar as he sat down resting for a minute reflecting his day.
"Oi! Potter! Get back to work I don't pay you for nothing!" said Frank, the owner of the bar/ restaurant. He was a man in his mid 40s who was round and plump with a large beer-belly. He had black hair and a handlebar mustache and was never seen without a scowl on his face.
"You barely pay me at all," Harry muttered under his breath with a sigh and eyeroll. Whoever said hard work pays off never had a shitty low paying job he thought as he got up off the stool walking through the kitchen doors as he piled the dishes in the sink feeling sorry for whoever was going to be forced to wash them. He grabbed his notebook out of the pocket of his jeans as he saw a table he had to wait. At the table there were 5 men who seemed to range from the ages of late 20s to early 30s. Harry walked over to them putting on the kindest smile he could muster.
"Hello gentlemen and welcome to Zatsby's! What can I get for you today?" He asked pulling out his notebook and pen. Harry could feel someone watching him but decided not to worry about it and give his undivided attention to the people he was serving.
"How about a nice cold coke and your number?" Said one of them as he gave Harry's bum a grope. Harry smile turned from one of fake happiness to a look of discomfort. Sleazebags he thought to himself as he removed the man's hand from his rear.
"I can get you a coke but I don't give my number out to sleazebags like you." He said as he sat waters on the table for them to start off with. The guy scowled at Harry as he made a mischievous smile. He picked up the glass as he splashed the water on Harry. Harry made a shocked face before looking down at himself as he grew cold from the ice cold water. He pulled some ice cubes from his shirt and sighed. Well today is just my perfect day isn't it? This sucks dog bollocks he thought as he went to serve another table leaving that one to one of his coworkers. He walked over to a table who had a male who looked about 2-7 years older than him. The man had golden-whitish hair, sparkling grey-blue orbs, and a slim yet manly face. He was in an expensive looking suit that probably cost more than Harry's rent for a year.
"Are you alright? Those pricks got water over you and now you look like hot mess." the male said looking him up and down with some look Harry could not identify. The man's voice was not too deep but not too high either and was mixed with coldness and authority.
"Wow thanks. That totally didn't put a dent in my self confidence. You're amazing at sugar coating things." Harry said in a sarcastic tone as he pulling out his order pad and pen. He fixed his glasses on his face as he smoothed out his shirt and hair. "What can I get for you Mr.-"
"Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." He said looking up at him as he crossed a leg putting his hands in his lap sitting up straight with confidence. He had a smug look on his face as he smirked. "Jack Daniels, light ice, Harry." the man, well Draco, said as he continued to stare at him. Harry nodded and went to the bar to give the order to Ron to make. Ron poured the drink as he slid it across the bar to Harry with a nod. Harry scurried back over the Draco placing the drink on his table.
"Here you go sir. Enjoy." Harry said as he began to walk away as he felt a hand grab his wrist. He looked back at the man as he raised an eyebrow. "Is there something you need or do you just like grabbing people by the wrist?" he asked.
"I do need something actually. I need you to sit here and have a conversation with me. For some odd reason I find you intriguing even though you've been a sarcastic git." He said with the cocky smirk still on his face. Harry looked back at the man. As much as this guy is a cocky prick, he's the most decent person I've talked to all day. And who knows, maybe he could be a nice guy. He is quite handsome after all and looks like he has money. Snap out of it Harry you have a job to do! he thought, pondering what the man had said.
