"Amelia! Amelia!" Arizona called through the apartment. She walked back through to the bedroom, "Get your ass up now!" She snapped, "You're going to work weather you like it or not! Stop acting like such a child and get your ass up. Now." Arizona insisted. Arizona then left the room and waited patiently by the kitchen counter.
Ten minutes passed and finally, she moved. She walked through to the kitchen and stared at Arizona, "Stop yelling. It's too early." She moaned.
"When were you gonna tell me, huh? When?! You're using again. Don't you dare lie to me." Arizona snapped, getting in her face.
"I was out all night, and you're accusing me of this crap. Look at me Arizona." Amelia snapped and faced her completely, flailing her arms, "Prove that I'm using drugs. You can't do it can you? How can we be in a relationship when there is no damned trust?!"
Arizona stood firm, keeping her arms folded. Hastily, she bit her lip and spoke up, "Where were you last night?" She asked quietly, "I was out of my mind. I woke up and it was half one in the morning. Amelia. I was worried."
"I had back-to-back surgeries, I meant to text or call, but I was so damned busy." She sighed, "I was going to get ten minutes more, but now I need to get dressed. I have a shift in fifteen." She then walked off to the bedroom in disbelief, wondering where Arizona's paranoia had come from.
Later that day when Amelia wasn't busy, Arizona walked into Neuro and stood beside Amelia while she was looking at scans of various tumors, "...I was wrong. I was out of order, I shouldn't have jumped to that conclusion. I was tired, I was worried and Callie has been on my back recently with Sofia and when I should see her. I was worried that if you were-You know I could lose Sofia for good, if you were...Which you're not, so..."
Amelia stopped her, "Arizona. I am a liar. I'm a phoney. I'm just a general ass. But." she said with a breath. Arizona's own breath hitched, "Amelia..." she said sternly.
Amelia went into her pocket and pulled out a small packet of white powder, "I have been using."
Arizona looked at her in disgust.
"It was a month ago. I didn't know how to get rid of it, so I have kept hold of it in case-"
"In case what? You relapsed?! We only got into this relationship under one condition and that was, so you'd not use drugs because I have a daughter."
"Arizona!" Amelia snapped, "In case I couldn't discard them safely! I'm clean. I promise."
Arizona stopped where she was, and somehow forgave her almost instantly after she gave the packet over. She slowly slipped it into her pocket, "What scans are these?" She asked, firmly, changing the subject.
"Herman's." Amelia said, turning to the scans, "I want to remember how good it felt that day. We kicked death in the ass. We stood up. We said no. Death didn't win. Cancer didn't win. We did. The surgeons. We did all the research, planned the surgery and we stopped death in his stupid tracks. Only freaking superheroes can do that."
Arizona looked at her. She nodded, "Only freaking superheroes."
