Chapter 1:Secret Told

Saphira's POV

I was walking home when a wolf walked right in front of my path, it stopped and looked at me then continued walking. After every couple of steps it stopped and looked at me, so I assumed it wanted me to follow it,So I ended up following it. I had already walked a mile and a half , when the wolf jolted to a stop. I walked up right next to it, it gave me a look that said stay here, so I did. The wolf came back with my mother at its side.
I asked her what was she doing here, she replied I have something to show and tell you, but it must stay only in our family. "Can you promise me that?" I told her that I can keep a secret. My mom told me about our family being wolfbloods and that I was one too, I laughed so hard that my eyes were watery. I told her that's a really funny joke. She said sternly " STOP laughing and listen to me." I immediately stopped laughing and sat down. She said that she can prove to me that our family is a group of wolfbloods.

I asked her how? She said like this, she yelled my brothers name at the wolf I had followed, and she said show your sister that you're a wolfblood. The wolf turned into my brother, then back into a wolf. I was shocked with amazement. I was speechless, I didn't know what to say. My mom asked me if I was okay, I told her yeah that I...just need some time to think about what just happened.

I was so stunned that I didn't know how to reply, but finally I said How is it that he can do that? My mom said we are wolfbloods ,we can transform from wolf to human. How long has are family been going through this mom? "Our family has been like this for centuries." How come I can't turn into one? "You will on your eighteenth birthday, all of us release our inner wolf on our eighteenth birthdays."              
Why are you just barely telling me now? "We had to make sure that you were ready." Well of course I'm ready I have the heart of a wolf, and tomorrow is my 18th birthday. Can my friends know about us? "I'm afraid not my wolf pup, unless they're descendants of wolfblood protectors." "You can tell if they are wolfblood protects the day you transform into a wolfblood, they will come to you."
Mom can we go home now, it's really dark already, and I have school tomorrow. "Yeah we should get going. Kato go home already, I'll take saphira home." "Alright mom, see you at home." Bye big brother." "Bye saphira."

Finally when my mom and I got home, we went to my grandpa and grandma. They asked my mom if she had already told me what we were. She replied yes, and they yelled with pure joy. They were so happy, they started cheering and were chanting we have another wolfblood in the family.

The next day was my birthday, I was eighteen. I couldn't wait till my inner wolf came out, the sad thing was that I didn't know when I would turn into a wolfblood. It could take all day, but I can wait. Halfway to the school I see my friend Niko, he always walks with me to school, we've known eachother since we were little. I have always liked him, but I don't think he notices. I met up with Niko near the stop sign like I've been doing since elementary. I told him hi and he said hey. We started to walk to the school past 3rd street ,till we got to 5th street.
When we arrived at school I saw Kara and Nina, we greeted eachother with laughter and hugs. We immediately went straight into gossip, but Niko stopped us by saying Happy Birthday Saphira. I hugged him with great joy and said Aww you remembered. He replied of course I remembered. The girls were all like damit Niko we were going to tell her first.

Niko was like ,well I said it first so therefore I win. Win what Niko, I said. "Oh it's nothing saphira." "Niko come here." "What do you want kara?" "You need to tell her." "I can't shell say no." Who will say no? "Oh saphira, Niko has something to ask you." What is it Niko? "Saphira will you go on a date with me tonight?"
I don't know what to say. "See guys I told you she wouldn't go out with me." I didn't say that Niko, and I would be honored to go on a date with you. "Really saphira?!?" Yes!
