People can be so cruel.
Even when they don't mean to be.
It makes it seem like you can't find anything good in this world anymore.
All you find is the bad.
It looks like no one cares.
Not anymore.
All the wars we had in the last one hundred years,
Have helped it along.
With the turn of the 20th century not even barely 20 years into it
WWI happened and it was a terrible war.
People thought that this was the war that would end all wars.
But it didn't.
It caused more to come.
Then the unthinkable happened.
Another World War.
This time there was more at stake
People would say today that a "mad man" took over Germany.
His goal was to take over Europe
To take out many ethnicities, nationalists, and "inferiors" that he did not like.
All the other countries tried to stop him
But one by one they fell.
The only countries against Germany left standing
Was U.S and Great Britain also USSR and other countries.
The only reason why we still stood was
Because we did not enter the war
And also we were across the water.
The only reason Great Britain was still standing
Was because of their air force that took down the planes of the German's.
Japan struck Pearl Harbor then we got into the war.
It took us four years to defeat Germany and Japan.
We finally did but it costed us something more.
What it costed us was...
our duty.
The duty to butt into wars that did not involve us.
We thought that just because a country was trying to get their independence we had to step in.
We thought just because we had a revolution,
That we had to go and start other people's' revolutions.
When that happened, other things started.
The Cold War for example.
We wanted to keep Communism to its borders.
Which made us want to have the Soviet Union as an enemy.
Caused us to make more weapons.
That made the Soviets make more also.
This lead to the Vietnam war where we took the South
While the Soviets took the North.
We split up a country just to keep an idea from spreading.
What we thought this was right
Caused more devastation to this split.
When the war ended it still became a Communist country.
More wars happened all over the globe.
We wanted to help them.
We wanted to spread our beliefs to other people.
To us we seemed the heroes.
Probably to many of them,
We were their nightmare.
To them, we were the monsters that came at night.
Slowly creeping into their little world.
They did not expect it
But we came
Even if they did not want us to come.
No one knew that with the spark of the revolution in colonies
Under King George
In what we now know as the United states.
We caused the world to change
But not in a good way.
We caused an epidemic
One that would shape the world
To be as it is today.
With just one little act of rebellion
In a little town with a harbor.
What we brought on the world
Was something some people would be glad about.
But really do you think that was a good idea
Or was it the worst decision in the course of history?
