Susan Diana Young hated her name.
According to her, it was obnoxiously white, almost whiter than her already-ghost-like skin. As if that wasn't enough, she had the same blue eyes as her grandmother, and her grandmother, and the same thin blonde hair as the rest of her ancestry. To top it all off, her voice had an annoying lilt typically associated with girls that looked like her and she couldn't do a thing about it.
Simply put, Susan felt like a thousand other girls had before her. She didn't feel unique, or 'exotic', or any of the things that she thought made girls beautiful. Her chest was flat and her rear-end was non-existent. Her lip-filler injected lips strongly resembled two rubbery sausages and her tall frame wasn't cute or desirable.
Susan had had enough. She decided that it was time to stop being average.
So she moved to attend college across America, like thousands of other average girls before her, and this is her story.
