From when I was small
I was always told that I can be rich and famous and successful and happy
But that can't happen to all of us
We can't all be rich or famous or successful
And we can't all be happy because darkness lives inside of all of us
We all have it whether we want to admit it or not
Whether we allow it to come out to greet reality because we feel comfortable showing the truth about us
Or whether we keep it locked away until the 2am thoughts take over and we have no choice but to let go
Let go into a world that is spiralling inside of us but we don't address it because it's not the normal thing
So that automatically makes it wrong
It makes it so everything bubbling over inside you start to spill out and the only way you can get it to calm down is to turn down the heat and put a lid on it.
But you have to let the steam out at some point or the pressure will rise so much that exploding is the only option you have left.
Your body can't take it so all you can do is cry and your mind can't take it so all you can do is cry and your soul breaks into pieces so all you can do is cry.
But crying's not cool and it's not good or acceptable or normal or okay.
You have to be smiling when you walk into your house after work because your family need to see you in your normal state.
Nobody wants to see you broken in half or on your bedroom floor because your legs just can't take how much pressure you've built up anymore.
Nobody wants to witness the damage you've done to yourself so just leave the lid on and don't let go until it's 2am and you're warm in bed and everybody is asleep and you can cry in peace and cry in pieces.
