The Ghost

What if there was a ghost or superficial invisible being that was supposed to protect you?

What if this 'ghost' was sitting right next to you and is trying to shelter you from all harm by putting thoughts into your head and trying to shield you from dangers in your life?

What if it is trying to protect you from all the little things like mosquito bites and getting a cold or getting a bad grade on a test?

What if this ghost is also trying to keep you safe from the big life threatening disasters?

What if right in that moment, you had turned left instead of right at that crosswalk and gotten hit by a car?

But the ghost saved you

It protected you

Even if it never gets recognized as your protector...

Even from all the little things...

You might've bumped into someone on the street,

But the ghost stopped you

You might've tripped while you were walking,

But the ghost kept your feet steady

You might've failed that all important math test,

But the ghost helped you study

You might've lost that last point in a match,

But the ghost wouldn't let you miss

You might've swiveled while driving and hit another car,

But the ghost kept your wheel steady

What if one day your ghost disappeared...

What if one day your protector was nowhere to be found...

What if one day everything just went wrong...

What if one day there is no one left to save you...

And the last thing you see is a pair of blinding headlights...

I hope my ghost will find me again someday...

And I will thank it for keeping me alive all these years...
