There I was, your normal average wolf, sitting on a park bench like I spend most of my days, watching everyone go by. Most of people I watched go by were couples, holding hands, kissing, telling each other how much they love the other. I watched emotionless, I wasn't sad that I didn't have a mate nor was I envious. But at the same time, I wasn't happy either and I couldn't figure out why. I kept pondering to myself, trying to figure out why I felt the way I did tell another wolf walked by me and broke my train of thought.
"Hey there!" the wolf said to me as he startled me a little. I looked up at him and he was built, you can almost say he was a human tank. He was so built that he could basically scare anyone off of that alone but yet his body language gave off the opposite. He was gentle and friendly, his voice seemed warm and inviting, so I decided to smile back and respond to him. "Hey. How are you?" "I'm perfectly fine! What about you?" He said in response. I stopped for a moment to think about it. 'How am I feeling? How can I respond to such a question when I can't give him a straight answer?' I thought to myself a little more as the other wolf gave me a worried look as he sat down beside me. "Hey there, are you ok?" "Y-yeah, I'm fine." I said to him not knowing it was the truth or not. "So what's your name?" I asked him curiously. "Shiro. Shiro Yukki! May I ask of yours?" He said in the warm voice. "Xavier Hawthorne." I said as I offer my paw to him. He then grabbed it and had a nice, firm grip on it as expected for a male as he shook it, confirming our greeting.
"So what's a guy like you sitting out here all by himself?' Shiro asked me with a warm smile on his face. "No reason. Just enjoying the nice, warm day today." "That's agreeable." He said as he laid back on the park bench watching people pass by as well. "But it would be just a waste to let a perfect day like this pass by and not do anything. So how about me and you hang out today?" I looked at him as he said that. 'Why would he ask someone he just met to hang out? What could he possibly be planning?' I said to myself, trying to figure out why he had asked that. "Sure, why not." I said to him as I saw a big grin on his face and a very happy tail as he got up. "Cool! I know a really awesome bowling alley we can go to. I know the people there and they always give me a discount, so what do you say?" "Sure." I said in a very calm voice as I got up and begin to follow him.
As we were walking out of the park, I pulled my phone out to check the time as Shiro asked me another question. "So Xavier, how old are you?" "I'm 19." I said to him as I put my phone back in my pocket. "That's awesome! So am I!" He said as I looked at him and his tail begin to wag even more excitedly as my own tail begins to wag a little and I blushed softly as Shiro chuckled a little. "So what do you do for a living Shiro?" I asked him to get his attention away from my tail. "I'm a DJ. I really love doing it and I make pretty decent money doing it." "That's good to hear." I said to him. "So what about you Xavier?" He asked me curiously as I looked into his eyes and it seemed like he was really excited to hear my response. "I go to college. I'm studying to become a computer engineer." "That's really cool man!" I blushed a little at the response as I wasn't expecting that. Then as we made out way closer to the bowling alley, I felt him grab hold of my hand as I blush a little more and jump in surprise. "U-ummm..." "M-My bad Xavier. Didn't mean to, guess I got a little to excited." For a brief second, I felt really happy. Happy that I felt his warm and gently paw locked with mine as Shiro let go and he noticed my tail begin to wag a lot as we exchanged looks before we walked into the bowling alley.
As we entered the bowling alley, I looked around to see that it was a decent amount of people here, so the place must be a little popular. Then as we walked up to the front, the owner greeted Shiro like someone would do to their own family member. I stood behind Shiro as the two converse with each other. Then after the two of them talked for a bit, the owner looked at me as I looked back at him a little confused and curiously as he turns his attention back to Shiro for a bit before he signaled me to come over and get a pair of bowling shoes. "What was you two talking about?" I asked Shiro as we walked to our bowling lane and put our bowling shoes on. "Oh, we were just catching up and talking about an event that he was planning and he wanted me to DJ, that's all." "Ok then." I said as I go to search for a bowling ball as Shiro was right behind me doing the same thing. As I was walking back, I could've sworn I thought Shiro was checking me out, but I ignored it as I walked back to or lane as we begin bowling.
