Nobunaga oda was born in owari province. His father was nobuhide oda the lord of owari after some internal strife he became the new lord of owari.Than report came that Yoshimoto Imagawa has marched with 40000 men together with the the matsuhaidhara clan( later Leyasu) in pretext of aiding the fragile ashikaga shogunate
Nobunaga could only gather 2000 to 3000 men he was in a serious disadvantage and many advised him to surrender but nobunaga stood tall and firmly decided to fight. Nobunaga's scouts reported that Yoshimoto was resting at the narrow gorge of Dengaku-hazama, ideal for a surprise attack, and that the Imagawa army were celebrating their victories while Yoshimoto viewed the heads. Nobunaga moved towards Imagawa's camp, and set up a position some distance away. An array of flags and dummy troops made of straw and spare helmets gave the impression of a large host, while the real Oda army hurried round in a rapid march to get behind Yoshimoto's camp. The heat gave way to a terrific thunderstorm. As the Imagawa samurai sheltered from the rain Nobunaga deployed his troops, and when the storm ceased they charged down upon the enemy in the gorge, so suddenly that Yoshimoto thought a brawl had broken out among his men, only realising it was an attack when two samurai charged up. One aimed a spear at him, which Yoshimoto deflected with his sword, but the second swung his blade and cut off Imagawa's head. That day the Imagawa clan power decreased rapidly and that Battle was nobunaga's greatest victory and he became the rising star of Japan to secure himself with his victory using marriage alliance Nobunaga( was not the one who got married to them)made a alliance with Shingen Takeda of kai and marry his sister to Nagamasa Azai of Omi.
