"Mmph"

"What?" Jason whispers to me over his shoulder while trying to pay attention enough to the lecture our instructor is giving.

"Nothing." I whisper back as I move my tongue over my sharp fang pricking it again. I try to hold in the moan from the delicious taste of my blood but a sigh escapes me despite my efforts.

"What? Tell me? How is it?" He hisses over his shoulder. It's not his fault he is being so pushy, we are majoring in psychology so it's only natural for him to be curious about the effects of the change on me.

It's been one week, five hours and twelve minutes since I was bitten by a vampire. I never even really knew they existed until a few weeks ago and what a crazy few weeks it's been. Jason has gotten to experience it all second hand but that doesn't stop him from jumping up and down and clapping with excitement when something new happens. He is fascinated with the change and the effects it's having on me.

Jason cranes his neck at an awkward angle to look back at me while trying to keep an eye on Professor Matson. Jason is gorgeous. The most perfect blend of his parents. He has his mother's striking bone structure and alarmingly bright green eyes. He has his father's fair hair and muscular build plus his unbelievable metabolism. Needless to say he is a huge catch and boy doesn't he know it. I wish I had half the confidence he does.

The blood in my mouth disappears quickly and I swipe my tongue under my fang again to slice it open allowing myself another taste. I haven't fed on a human yet and every second that ticks by is like a century. I want it so bad but what kind of aspiring doctor would I be if I didn't want to see the ins and outs of this thing and if I have to be the test subject then so be it. It's not as is if I could ask the person who turned me, seeing as how she died minutes after the fact.

Liv was the only vampire I have ever met. I only knew her for a few short weeks and that wasn't enough time for her to explain her whole world to me. I wish she had left me with more answers than questions but there isn't much I can do about it now.

I swipe my tongue under my fang again and drop my head back to enjoy the few seconds of ecstasy it gives my body. "Cut it out. You're making me jealous." Jason whines. I pop my head up quickly, quicker than I thought I could and I stick out my blood coated tongue at him. He jumps back in his seat. "Nani!" He yell whispers. "You moved so fast! How did you do that?"

"I'm not sure." I whisper back.

"Is there a problem back there?" Professor Matson calls from the front of the class. Jason snaps his head back around and sits up straight while I shrink down in my seat shaking my head.

"Nani. How about you give us an example of permissive parenting in today's society." Professor Matson says to me as he walks towards our chairs at the back of the room. To any normal person the expression on his face as he walks towards me would appear to be happy. I know better. With Professor Matson the bigger the smile on his face the less happy he is.

A small interruption in Professor Matson's class would usually go unnoticed, his policy being you snooze you lose. But I guess when the professor is your hard ass uncle who is paying your way through college that policy doesn't apply to you, aka me.

"Oh um." I take a second to think but obviously that was the wrong answer.

"Very well. Since you don't seem to know what a permissive parent is can someone give me an example?" Without even turning around he calls on Maygan who is sitting at the front of the class.

Why is it that there is always at least one annoyingly obnoxious know it all in every class? Who has the ability to pump answers out of their brain that fast? He barely gave me a second to breathe let alone answer yet there is always someone who has the answer before the question is even asked.
