Chapter 2:

Buzz! I grab my phone from my jacket pocket. I look up to see the teacher with his back to me. I glance down at my phone.

'Look out the window.' -Luke

I sit up in my sit and look out the huge window. On another building, is Luke and Natalie on the roof waving. I smirk.

'Get Moose. We need to practice for Red Hook.' -Luke

I slide my phone back in my pocket. It's a good thing we aren't doing anything in class today. I raise my hand.

"Yes, Ms. Katcher?" The professor calls on me.

"May I go back to my house?"

"Why? Is my class too boring for you?" He asks.

"No, sir." I shake my head. I need a good lie. "I have personal problems."

"Are you bleeding to death?" He chuckles.

"Well.." I say knowing he knows what I mean. His face flushes a bright red. He nods his head and turns back to the board. Piece of cake.

I grab my backpack and leave the classroom. Now where is the engineering lab? I walk down the hallways and finally find it. I peek through the small window and see Moose looking at his phone. He looks out the window smiling. I text him quickly. Moose grabs his phone and nods his head slightly. I burst through the door. Everyone stops what their doing and stares at me.

"Moose! It's your sister! She's in the hospital!" I act scared. "There was a car accident and they aren't sure if she is going to m-make it." I start fake crying. Moose stands up quickly and rushes towards me.

"You're excused." His professor waves him out. I cling onto Moose as we walk out of the lab. When we get far enough away, I burst out laughing.

"You're a pretty good actress." Moose compliments me. "If you can't be a dancer, you should look into becoming an actress."

"I prefer dancing." I laugh.

'Hurry up.' -Luke

My brother is so impatient. I grab Moose's hand and begin running through the school. We run down the steps and see Luke and Natalie by his car.

"Took you long enough." Luke stares at Moose and my hands. I let go of Moose's hand.

"Let's go practice!" I say climbing in the backseat.

We walk into the Vault and follow Luke. He leads us on a metal walkway. What is my brother up too?

"Alright guys, let's show these newbies why we call this the Vault." Luke called out to the twins. The twins follow us to the grey door holding a remote. This is my favorite part of the Vault. Moose and Natalie are standing next to me watching the twins.

"Ladies and gentleman. Our most prized possessions." The twins clicked a button on the remote. The walls lifted up, showing our wall of shoes. Moose's jaw dropped as we quickly walked over to a pair of shoes. On the sides is some shirts and hats. Natalie admires my bright yellow customed Nikes.

"Those shoes are my favorite the Back to the Future ones. My mother used to wear them. Now they are Lexi's." Luke explains. I walk up behind Moose who is about to touch Luke's shoes.

He picks a shoe up gently. "Limited edition Gun Metal Nike Dunks." Moose says in awe. "Dude, I've always wanted these."

"Luke's lucky shoes?" The twins ask grinning. "Oh yeah. Smart boy." One of them said. Luke chuckled as Moose put them back down.

"Around here, you gotta earn your kicks." I tell Natalie and Moose.

"C'mon, there's someone else I want you to meet." Luke says walking back the way we came. I pull Moose away from the shoes. We come up to a wall. I press a button on the side. Natalie jumps back slightly as it hisses. The wall moves to the side.

"Behind door number two is the graffiti room." Luke explains walking in the room. This will probably be Moose's second favorite room. It's dimly lit with mostly green lights and graffiti on the walls. I look to the left and see Jason messing in a splattered jump suit and huge goggles.

"Hey, who's that?" Moose asks staring at Jason messing with a tiny lightbulb.

"Oh that? That's Jason." Luke steps closer.

"He is our electronic guru. I'm talking LED lights, electronic billboard hacks and basically anything to do with lights and stuff." I explain. Jason turns around and moves over to the table.

"Dude, excellent timing." He says slapping Luke's hand. "You know how I have been working on that portable lighting system? Well, I can't figure out how to get it to stick!" He complains. Jason has been working on this thing for forever.

"Hey you got any electrical tape?" Moose asks stepping forward looking at one of the lights. Jason nods and hands Moose a strip.

"Check this out. Just wrap it around, snug fit and-" Moose takes the tape and wraps it around the light. Moose throws it like a dart at one of the metal cables. It worked!

Jason jumps up shocked. "Yes! Oh yes!" Jason shouts clapping his hands excitedly. He hugs Moose and looks over at Luke. "Oh I love this kid! It's the LED to the battery to the magnet." He slapped his forehead.

Natalie grabs one just like me and wraps it. She throws hers first. "They're beautiful." She states. "Like neon fireflies."

I nod my head and throw mine. I walk over to the metal chain amazed. "Neoflies." I said in unison with Jason. We grin at each other.

"Yeah, Neoflies. I like it." Jason agrees.
