When I woke up, I noticed one thing. It was cold. The second thing I noticed was the people. They were all dressed the same, with black cloaks and masks that were white as bone, with intricate details carved into them. They were chanting strange words, words I couldn't understand.
"Welcome, Phoenix," one said in a raspy, dry voice. "We were waiting for you to Awaken."
"Awaken? What?" I said, but my voice was hoarse and rough.
"Oh, nothing much. You have been chosen to be our sacrifice."
