Ж Sadie's P.O.V Ж

It seemed like a casual Tuesday afternoon at St Romans High School, but boy I was wrong. This would be the day that changes my life, for the better and for the worse.

My name is Sadie Bennett. I'm 16 years old and I'm what you'd call.. A nerd. I'm definitely not popular at all. The only reason people actually realise that I'm there is because of my best friend, Jess Hopkins, the most popular girl in the school.

We've been best friends since birth and she is the sweetest person in the world. But she's also super hot. So the only reason boys ever talk to me is when they're asking if Jess is single or if she's willing to go out with them. I've had one boyfriend, when I was six, but he left me for Jess. But being the friend she is she denied him, so I forgave her instantly and bought a friendship neck less that connect when you put them together, and Jess and I both still wear them to this day. Every time we get into a fight, I bring out my necklace and squeeze it in my hand and remember the good times we had when we were kids. The longest fight we've ever had was one that lasted three days. That's how close we are.

Anyway, that Tuesday. It was first period, Spanish with Miss Gold. The private school I went to was incredibly strict, so as we came in she stopped us girls one by one and measured out skirts to make sure they were no more than 1cm above the knee. Of course Jess got stopped.

"3cm young lady," Miss Gold scolded. "Pull it down." Jess walked off in a huff and when the teacher turned around she pulled a face and whispered "Goldie the skirt killer" making me giggle, very loudly, which cause Miss Gold, or Goldie, to turn around and give me a death stare. I just looked down at my book and kicked Jess under the table, making her kick me back.

"Alright class," Goldie said. "Today we are moving seats!" She said, attempting to be enthusiastic. The whole class moaned. I gave Jess a depressed look, and gave the same one back. We sat next to each other in everything, and Jess was especially annoying as I helped her in tests and quizzes as she wasn't the smartest and I was top of the class.

"Ok, everyone stand up!" Goldie yelled. We hesitantly picked up our back packs and stood at the back of the room. "Jess Hopkins sit here" she said, pointing at a seat in the back corner. She gave my hand a squeeze and walked to he corner. "Next to her, Harry Kibbling" Jess looked over at me and furrowed her eyebrows, then mouthed "Help Me." Harry was the biggest weirdo in the school. He would pick his nose and then eat it. Like, seriously? Gross. It's said that he has a collection of hair, and that's just mega weird.
Goldie kept calling out more and more names. "Joseph Gardener and Fiona Bessie." She seated everyone until I was the last one standing.

"Ok, Sadie Bennett," she said. "Here!" Using her long ruler, she pointed at the seat right in front of her desk. I turned around to see Jess laughing hysterically at me. I gave her my sad puppy dog eyes and she pulled a pretend pouty face. Grumpily, I threw my bag  under my chair and sat down.

"Now class, we have a new student!" She said clapping her hands together. "His name is Callum Michels and he's here from Westbury High!" As if on command, the door opened and in came and angel- I mean Callum, shirt untucked, tie loose and messy dark brown hair. He had dreamy hazel brown eyes and had a jawline so sharp it could kill someone. My eyes widened and my heart started to race as he looked right into my eyes for half a second.

"Now, you'll be sitting next to our star student, Sadie Bennett." I could feel my face turning bright red as everyone's eyes turned to me. I fixed my glasses and looked at the floor as he began to walk over.

Nervous and embarrassed, I continued to looked at the floor as I heard his chair scratching across the floor and he's bad hit the ground. The table shock as he slumped into his chair. "Mr Michels, tuck in your shirt and fix your tie!" Goldie said, hitting the table with her ruler, causing me to jump which made my glasses fly off and onto the floor. Under his desk. I didn't know what to do, so I sat there in silence as he tucked in his shirt and grumpily fixed his tie. Just as I was about to lean down to get my glasses, he picked them up and said, "Here," with smile.
"Thanks" I said quietly. I gave him a small smile and fixed my glasses onto my face.
My Spanish lessons were gonna be interesting this year.
