Phone buzzes.
I look at the screen, the time reads 4:52 P.M. A text pops up.

Mandi: Hullo. Do u want to meet at my house and then we can go to CVS?

I start texting back.

Me: Sure, does 5:30 sound good?

Mandi: Yeah and bring Maddy and Jenna too! :0))

I call Maddy and Jenna to let them know I'm going to pick them up soon.

"Mom!" I shout from upstairs, "I'm going out with my friends to pick up some candy for tonight. I'll be back soon."
"Okay, be safe and tell them I say hi!" Joyce says.
"All right bye Mom, love you!"
I grab my keys and jacket and hop in the car. I plug in my phone and start blasting "Troye Sivan" with the windows down. I go to Maddy's house first. I pull into the driveway and park. I can see Trish on the couch catching up on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta." Maddy comes outside and starts waddling to the car.
"Hey Mads!" I laugh.
"Ayy boyo. You ready to get the treats?" Maddy asks.
"Sure am just gotta pick up Jenna first and then we'll head to the Mandi and Jens' place."
We both get in the car. Maddy plugs in her phone and "Headfirst" by My Chemical Romance starts playing.
"Hey! Why'd you change it?" I ask.
"Troye's a loser and Gerard is my daddy." Maddy states.
"Ya ok that seems about right." I say.
We turn out of Maddy's house and head for Jenna's.
"OH MY GOD!!!" Maddy screams.
"WHAT?!" I shout.
"GERARD WAY TWEETED ME!!"
"WHAT DID HE SAY??" I ask.
"Okay, so I asked him what his favorite Halloween candy is and he replied with 'Boat Lotion' !!" Maddy exclaims.
"Wow, what a truly remarkable man." I state.
Maddy kept going on and on about her greasy babe and sooner than later we arrived at Jenna's house.
