To start off I'm Grant Brennan. A simple 28 year old man that loves the beach and all things aquatic. My wife Alexandra, my two kids,  and I live in a nice Beach Front, three bedroom, two story house. All our lives and more where changed the day we decided to go on a family trip to Africa. It was a cold winters morning when I woke to find my wife missing.  I looked around quickly before my ears recognise the familiar sound of the shower running. I laid back down peacefully.
Around twenty minutes later, Alexandra walked out of the shower, I planted a soft kiss on her cheek on my way to the bathroom. I got in, water still running. The cascading liquid was still hot, I don't usually like hot showers but this morning the heat was welcoming as opposed to the cold outside.

Upon getting changed, a long grey shirt sitting comfortably over my torso, a pair of dark grey sweatpants sitting low on my hips. I made my way downstairs to find my kids, Timothy and Daisy rugged up watching TV morning cartoons. Alexandra beside them stoking the fire, which I took over.

Breakfast went by quick, bacon and eggs. My wife is an amazing  cool,  not to say that she does all of the cooking, I do cook in the evening. Everyone seated themselves down at the table, but before the kids could devour the food like crazed animals, Alex turned to them.
"Kids, your father has something he'd like to tell you." She looked towards me with a gentle smile and placed her hand over mine, old habits die hard I guess.
Tim and Daisy looked at me, I could sense the hesitation, because of work I often had to find time to spend time with them.
"In about a weeks time, we will be going to Africa on a family trip." I saw their eyes almost burst from their heads, grins widespread. They seemed fairly excited about the whole ordeal. "So, what do you think?"
"A week?" Tim said, looking a little awed.
"We need to hurry up and pack!" Daisy almost shouted as she turned to her breakfast to munch it down quickly, Tim following suit.
Alex laughed and I smiled adoringly at my children.

They started packing that afternoon even though it's was a week until we left but they packed anyway they packed all the wrong things obviously Tim is 12 he packed his trophys from sporting events and started to get the dog carrier out for Shiloh but I told him we couldnt bring him.

Daisy started to pack he fairy and princess costumes along with way to many dolls but Alexandra told her we couldn't talk them cause she would lose them but she said she wouldnt cause she's a "big girl" well she is 10 so we should start putting some trust in her but not yet.  Then finally the day came we went to the airport, went through security like a breeze and we were on the the plane in no time.
